Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Another year, another year of official singles chart number ones! the rappers dominate the charts many hitting the #1 spot only for a week. the weeks and weeks lasting hits are missing this year except for KAJ's Bara bada bastu with 7 weeks, the others don't go further than 4 at most. Same names scored short runs for their #1s: Averagekidluke (4), Lauri Haav (4), JVG (3), Isac Elliot (3), Mirella (2), Turisti (2) and Ares (2) Obviously the radioplay chart is completely different and you can find it here. It's also worth mentioning ALL number ones are by Finnish artists. Everyone's reporting Måneskin global success on Spotify and not only but they are also doing some remarkable damage in the official Finnish charts.  This week they are Number One in still in the album charts with Teatro d'ira, vol.1 (eight weeks now, seventh at number one after debuting at #2). It also charted in the Physical album chart at #3. Chosen is number 3 (eight weeks now, peak at #2)  Ballo della vita is number 10 (eight weeks now, peak at #5) In the singles charts I wanna be your slave drops to number 2 (eight weeks total so far, 3 of them at #1 and 4 of them at #2).  Beggin' is at number 3 (seven weeks so far, peaking at #3 for the 3rd week, the others 2 weeks at ¤4, one at #5 after debuting at #10) Zitti e buoni is at number 5 (8 weeks total so far, peaking at #1 for two weeks and all weeks at top-5. Also Nina Zilli is feeling the summer as her new single is very summery reggae inspired tune. This is her first release since 2015 and anticipated a new album. Hooray!

Another year has passed and it's time to look back who managed to score a #1 hit in the official Finnish charts.... Once again the chart is dominated by foreign DJs and Finnish rappers and most every act has "feat." in it. But hey, one Eurovision entry is one of the biggest hits of the year: Vicky Rosti's Sata salamaa covered by Antti Tuisku in Vain elämää series. Also another cover from that series made it to number one: VilleGalle and Sanni doing Pave Maijanen's classic Lähtisitkö . And another Eurovision link is UMK host Roope Salminen having one of the summer hits.  Only 18 songs made it, and Finnish ones beat the foreign ones 10-8 :-) Check all their videos after the jump....
