ITALY: SANREMO 2026 - SECONDA SERATA

The 76th Sanremo festival continues tonight. The Newcomers will kick of the evening with two duels with the winners going to the final. The voting is the holy threesome: Press, web and tv (33%), Radio (33%) and televote (34%).

Half of the Big artists will perform again and are voted by Radio (50%) and televote (50%). Again the Top-5 will be announced in random order.

Co-hosts are Pilar Fogliati, Achille Lauro and Lillo.

Bresh will perform outside Teatro Ariston in Suzuki stage and Max Pezzali again on the cruise ship.. Apparently Eurovision veteran Fausto Leali will be present and receive a life time award.

The first night was watched by 9,6 million viewers with share of 58% compared to last year's 12,6 million so 3 million viewers were lost. The peak was 15.782.000 during the 105 year old lady's interview while the biggest share 64,5% during Leo Gassmann's performance. Laura Pausini did not sing last night but tonight this will change as she will be dueting (at least) with Achille Lauro, the Sammarinese Eurovision veteran fresh from Olympic games closing ceremony.

Personally I think the evening was somewhat boring, missing some humor and chaos even if I am a fan of Pausini's self irony. The songs were okeyish, I didn't quite hate any of them but then again I didn't quite fall in love with any of them. Some I liked, some I need to hear again. This said some new names to me very quite pleasant surprises against my initial expectations. But I'll do my ranking later. The stage and lights are nice, nothing spectacular but nice. And it was nice to see most everyone dressed well, especially ladies, and no jeans and t-shirts and such in sight really. Arisa entered the top-5. Could she win and finally get the ticket to Eurovision?

ESC 2016 WISH LIST: MARGARET FOR POLAND

Małgorzata Jamroży aka Margaret has also been tipped for Eurovision and apparently she did turn it down but she'd be perfect. She's got a look and persona you can't unnotice nor forget, she's got hit songs, she has been voted or nominated for everything from Trendy artist to the Hope of the Year, Fashion Icon and Glamour Woman of the year besides the usual best video, song, album, debut..... Oh she's also a fashion designer! She's very clever with social medias and would surely use it to her advantage if selected for Stockholm 2016. Her debut album is titled Add the blonde , do we need to say more? Except it includes mostly Swedish written pop tunes like Tell me how are ya , Wasted , Start a fire and Heartbeat . And of course her debut single and internationally noticed Thank you very much that you can enjoy below with all its anti-textil feel. I think she's Eurovision perfection, she's cheeky and fun, can we have her?

EUROVISION 2026 ASIA: PRATIK HIMAL RAI (प्रतीक हिमाल राई) FOR NEPAL WITH नन्त माया

Nepal was also chosen for the very first Eurovision song contest Asia. The national final - post boned due to terrible Tibet flood from the origal September 19 to October 7. A total of 11 songs competed and after the already familiar 40% jury, 40% national viewers and 20% international viewers the top was revealed. Pratik Himal Rai won ahead of Allam Aadesh and Bullet Flo with Preeti Kaur. EUROVISION ASIA 2026: BECK FOR MONGOLIA

Mongolia has internally chosen Beck as their debut at Eurovision song contest Asia. He will perform several songs on the national final show on October 10, 2026 and once again people at home and abroad along with the jury will pick up the song he will perform in Bangkok in November. Beck Munkhbayar is a seasoned entertainer, presenter, actor, model, podcaster and singer in Mongolia having made his singing debut some 20 years ago, and he's been dreaming of doing Euroviison since 2000. Who could have believed just a couple of years ago his dream would become reality and especially for his native country?! Isn't he lucky? Considering his long career it's incredible how little life he has online anywhere, at least in western platforms. Basicly nothing. So let's all be surprised what he's going to offer..... EUROVISION ASIA 2026: BEATMOSPHERE FOR BANGLADESH

Bangladesh had its national final for Eurovision song contest Asia 2026 on September 30, 2026. After the already usual ESCA voting system of 40% jury, 40% national and 20% international viewers vote accapella and beatbox group Beathomsphere won before Pulak Adhikary who placed second and Vintage Theory third. Beatmosphere was formed in 2009. Normally a nine-member ensemble, for Voice of Bangladesh they will perform as a six-member group. On stage you'll see Ishtiyak Zobayer (Zardo) and Sayed Ahnaf Tahmid (Glizmo) on lead vocals and harmony, along with Sidratul Mursalin Bhasha (Bhasha) and Mahi Bin Ashraful (Sykoverse) on harmony. Further harmonies will come from Moktadir Dewan (BeatBaksho), also on vocal bass and baritone, while Mahi Hossain Khan (Invalíd) will be providing beatbox and vocal percussion. ESC 2016 BELARUS: NAKED WITH WOLVES?

Today's funniest Eurovision related story comes from Belarus. Some sources claim Ivan wants to perform on stage naked and with live wolf or wolves. It surely would be a first on Eurovision stage! We have seen some forgotten underwear over the years, and some cardbox animals though..... Is it time to take things a bit further? No, according the rules live animals are not allowed, and Eurovision being a family show nudity won't do either. (It seems to be ok to be half naked if you are a dancer though..... )

CAROLA'S BOOBS STEAL THE SHOW, SVT APOLOGIES

Update! Another thing got Swedes talking last night: Carola's boobs when she was giving away an award. This is not the first time her boombs cause headlines; her misfortunate adventures in the 80's in Japan wer explained with her boobs being too big for Japanese market. Ok.... Or was it the song ? Anyways, Carola apologies and says she thinks the dress is stylish and elegant (even her friends said so) and she's a mature woman in her 40s, not a 16-year-old girl and looks like one. The Swedish Oscars, Guldbagge awards were given out last night. Carola was there as a guest star to sing Barbra Streisand's The way we were when honoring the movie stars who passed away during 2012. However, the cameras were too much on Carola, not on the stars showed in photos in the background and that upset many viewers as that part of the show was to celebrate them, not Carola. Oh well...
