Germany has picked the five finalists for the national final. They decided to go back to the newcomer thing after failing big time with big names. Two last places in a row is not easy to get but Germany did it.... These five newcomers are hoping to become a new Lena (who's in the jury btw) and have been chosen amongst 2000 applications. It's worth remembering they were first cut to 33 - among then Nathan Trent who was then picked by ORF for Austria! Now ARD will look suitable songs for these five from German and foreign top producers and writers.
Axel Maximilian Feige (28) from Hamburg started playing piano att rha age of 5. At 15 he started his first (progressive) rock band, later played in various bands of blues and alternative rock. At the moment he's in bands Absolem Max and Diazpora. He's also a studio, wedding and street musician.
Felicia Lu Kürbiß (21) from Frellassing started acting and singing at the kindergarten. Logically she entered a musical education in Salzburg and continued studies with pop music and vocal coach. In 2014 she reached the final of Rising Star and since 2015 she's been very active on her Youtube channel.
Helene Nissen (20) comes from Schleswig. She also writes songs and loves JOhnny Cash and blues. And she seems a bit obsessed with Gabrielle Aplin.
Isabella “Levina” Lueen was born in Bonn but lives now between Berlin and London. After classicla vocal training and children's musicals and winning awards she wrote her first own songs at 12. She went on to study in London winning more awards as solo or with her band Miss Terry Blue and even reeased an EP. In 2014 she went solo.She loves Joy Denalane.
Wilhelm “Sadi” Richter (19) lives in Dortmund, has four octave voice and is multi intrumentalist. At the moment he studies at the University of Arts in Essen and concentrates on composition. His Youtube has songs he has produced and arranged himself.
UPDATE: Sadi withdraw on January 17 and will be replaced by Yosefin Buohler. She's half Swedish and has experience from Swedish Idols where she competed against both Loreen and Måns Zelmerlöw.
