EUROVISION 2022: JÉRÉMIE MAKIESE FOR BELGIUM!

We may still have no host city but Belgium has revealed its entrant for the Eurovision song contest 2022 somewhere in Italy. Jérémie Makiese, who won the 9th series of The Voice Belgique in April will next take on the Eurovision stage following season one winner Roberto Bellarosa and season three runner up Loïc Nottet. The silky voiced geology student and amateur football player  Jérémie was born in Antwerp, Belgium to Congolese parents.  His name wasn't a surprise as he had already voiced loud and clear he would like to do Eurovision and Belgium and his name was widely rumored all summer.

ESC 2015 BELGIUM: WHAT TO EXPECT?

Loïc Nottet and his entourage has been keeping quiet how his performance will be and look like in Vienna. A few days ago he performed in the Boice of Belgique and gave us a little glimpse. Or did he? “My act on The Voice Belgique was inspired on what I will do on the Eurovision Song Contest but my performance in Vienna will also be very different. I am going to keep it simple but modern with new technologies. It’s going to be something new for Eurovision,” tells Loïc, “I will only have support from 5 backing vocals. ‘Rhythm Inside’ is a really complicated song and I need a lot of voices to back me up. The main rule on the contest is that all the vocals in the song should be sang live. Another rule is that only 6 people are allowed on stage,” Nottet explains.  Also Loïc’s look remains a big mystery. Loïc can only reveal that he will be dressed by the Belgian fashion label ‘ Les Hommes ’ on the red carpet in Vienna. His suit will be mainly black with an edge, but yet very ref...

ESC 2015: MEET LOïC NOTTET (BELGIUM)

Loïc Nottet is one of the youngest and unexperinced artists this year. This 18-year-old came second in the The Voice Belgique last year and then in the fall was approached by RTBF if he would be interested in Eurovision. He didn't say yes immediately as he confesses he didn't quite know what Eurovision is! He documented himself and said yes, as it is an opportunity to make a huge show for the whole of Europe. Even if he is well aware his entry Rhythm inside isn't a typical Eurovision song he hasn't listened the other songs to avoid comparing himself to others and get stress for it. And how will his staging in Vienna be...?

BELGIUM DECIDES....

Have we seen the future of Eurovision with the EBU's wishes to downscale the show and make it more intimate again? Just kidding, but the Belgian affair was indeed something else. Tiny and dark stage in some radio studio apparently, everyone dressed like they were having a lazy Sunday at home doing karaoke with friends... Oh well, these days it's maybe the most important thing that they are participating and who cares about the national final shows ... Belgium is in Malmö 2013 and that's all that matters in the end. The other The Voice finalists were singing in the show old Eurovision hits, and most of them seemed rather down with the voice as well.... Is there a flu in Belgium? Roberto started his songs with Love kills . A rather catchy pop tune that could sound and look completely different if he dressed up and was on a big stage. Not bad, but he seems to be down with voice this morning, is he? .... Well, the show started off quickly but now we are stuck with adverti...

ROBERTO BELLAROSA FOR BELGIUM

While I was holidaying under the Soanish sun Belgium announced they will send The Voice winner Roberto Bellarosa to Malmö 2013. He's Italian as the name suggests, comes from a family of footballers so how more Italian can you be: singing, playing football and emigrating?! Anyways, he's just 18 and the song will be selected on December 16, 2012 when he will sing several songs and people will have their say. Belgium thus becomes already 6th country to selected their entry before the end of the year! Roberto has already released two singles, Je crois and Apprends-moi from his debut album Ma voie released this September. And here he sings with Tiziano Ferro! To me it looks like a good choice but then all depends on the song really. Being the Voice winner should mean he has some popularity and following to support him on the home ground, too.
