EUROVISION 2021: MÅNESKIN'S INCREDIBLE CHART SUCCESS - AND NOT ONLY...

The Eurovision song contest 2021 was a great success in every way, there's no doubt about that. It managed to keep the virus out (well, almost....) and gave people all around Europe what they wanted: a live show. That is proven by the viewing figures that are all over Europe the best ones in many years if not record breaking. (Well, almost...) 183 million people turned in to watch the shows on television or online where over 50 million people in 234 countries joined in! But the real success comes afterwards in streaming platforms. I have never witnessed such a rush to download and stream the Eurovision songs. And so many of them! Besides the winners Italian Måneskin who has really taken over the globe with their music, not only the winning song but their music in general, notable success has been evident for Ukrainian Go-A and Finnish Blind Channels, but that's just to name a few.  I have already lost of Måneskin's records including the most streamed Italian song within 24 ...

ITALY: MAHMOOD RETURNS TO ISRAEL WHILE BARRIO IS A HIT

Mahmood's new video Barrio had over one million views in 48 hours and has already passed 1,5 million mark. He's proving to be the most exciting export in music from Italy in years, and has convinced also the critics with this song again managing to mix the Latin influences with a hint of  Arab exotism with the Italian melodic pop and his unique voice. And did you notice there's also a gimmick hand choreography just like in Soldi , and it fits like a glove? Meanwhile his Europa Good Vibes Tour is selling well with sold out dates and added gigs in London  and Paris, and now a new date in Tel Aviv as well. On October 4 he will be performing in Malta in Radio Italia Live concert as well besides a few dates in Italy still to come. ITALY: MAHMOOD TOURS EUROPE IN OCTOBER-NOVEMBER

After winning Sanremo and placing second in Eurovision, after 120 million Youtube views so far, over 100 million Spotify streams becoming the most streamed Italian song ever and picking up triple platinum in Italy, platinum in Switzerland, Greece and Spain, gold in the Netherlands and hitting #1 in Israel among other chart listings the next logical step is of course an European tour following the ongoing tour in Italy between European PR gigs and events. On October 23, 2019 his European leg of the tour will start in Lugano, Switzerland, the birth place of the Eurovision song contest. Next stops (so far) Zurich, London, Paris, Luxembourg, Brussels, Berlin and Barcelona. Clap clap  will echoe even in the fall time.

ITALY: FRANCESCO GABBANI'S OCCIDENTALI'S KARMA HITS 200 MILLION VIEWS MARK

Sanremo winner and Italy's Eurovision song contest 2017 entry Occidentali's Karma by Francesco Gabbani has passed the 200 million views mark on Youtube. It could also become the most viewed Italian video on Youtube ever as the most viewed one Pulcino Pio has 234 million views and the second Roma-Bangkok 223 million and he has reached already 3rd place. And not only, it's also by far the most watched Eurovision entry on Youtube! PS. This year's winner Netta stands at 91 million, Måns Zelmerlöw's Heroes at 30 and Loreen's Euphoria at 38 while Salvador Sobral at 17 and Jamala even less....  Another Italian act is riding high as well: Il Volo's Grande amore at 130 (making it the second most watched Eurovision Youtube ever) while Mengoni stands at 55, Francesca Michielin at 31, this year's MetaMoro at 25 and the rest far far behind.... while Alexander Rybak's Fairytale completes the top-3 of Eurovision Youtubes with 97 million views.

EUROVISION 2018 IN YOUTUBE: ITALY IN LEAD - AGAIN

Eurovision.tv has uploaded the official videos of the Eurovision song contest 2018 entries on their channel on Youtube, and most of the entries also have had the live performance from the national final uploaded earlier as well. But what about the videos of the entries in the national broadcaster's and the artist's own channels? If we start summing up it gives a better picture, even if rather unfair to be honest: some entries, like Georgia, have only the Eurovision.tv one while others have been published here and there and everywhere in various official forms. This said, let's have a look anyways. Italy may not be doing so great on Eurovision.tv's channel but the official MetaMoroVEVO has nearly 14 million views and makes it the most watched entry this year by far.  Same goes for France's Madame Monsier and Spain's Alfred & Amaia; poor performance on Eurovision.tv but the videos have been watched in various other sites for over 7 and nearly 6 ...

EUROVISION 2017: 182 MILLION VIEWERS (DESPITE RUSSIA)

EBU has released today data of the viewing figures for the Eurovision song contest 2017 held in Kyiv, Ukraine earlier this month. A drop was expected as Russia decided not to broadcast it but the drop is less than this blogger expected so who needs Russia anyways? The audience share remained the same as last year, 36,2% in the 42 markets of the competing countries. That's more than a double of the usual Saturday night prime-time share in these countries. The online viewers more than doubled from 2016. Over six million viewers in 233 territories watched the shows on official Youtube channel and a total of 8,5 million on-demand. (Does that make it 196.500.000 viewers?) The viewing figures broke records in both winner Portugal and runner up Bulgaria. Italy also did its best result since rejoining the contest in 2011. Host country Ukraine also did the highest figures in eight years. The highest share was once again registered in Iceland: 98%! In general the Eurovision song c...

ITALY: FRANCESCO GABBANI IS BREAKING RECORD AFTER RECORD AND KEEPING BUSY BEFORE KYIV

Where to start? Francesco Gabbani broke two record in Italy immediately after his Sanremo victory: the first ever artist to win both categories within two years : Newcomers with Amen in 2016, and the main category with Occidentali's karma in 2017. Within hours his video became the most watched Italian video on Vevo ever in 24 hrs period. Then the video became in less than two months the most watched Eurovision entry video EVER in Youtube passing Il Volo's previous record on 86 million. When writing this it stands at 90,6 million. Meanwhile the song topped all possible charts in Italy and has sold already triple platinum. It entered the iTunes charts in 15 countries right after Sanremo and currently is played on radios in over 30 countries.  Now in mid April, a month before the final betting offices are giving him the lowest odds ever seen before the rehearsals start, below 2.0. If you thought Loreen or Alexander Rybak were clear pre-contest favorites... they never ...

ITALY: OCCIDENTALI'S KARMA BECOMES THE MOST WATCHED EUROVISION ENTRY ON YOUTUBE. EVER

He's done it. And weeks before the Eurovision final. One can predict a few million views more in the Eurovision final weekend alone so Francesco Gabbani's Occidentali's Karma is well heading for 100 million views and more.... even before the final.... Below is the current Top-5 and curiously Il Volo and Alexander Rybak are the ones who have scored the biggest televotes ever in the contest - can we already consider Italy as the clear televote winner and is it all up to the juries come May? 86,806,112 views 86,035,687 views 81,413,017 views 62,087,316 views 56,141,822 views
