Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

It didn't all go well last night for YLE. First of all the Euroviisut final was supposed to be broadcasted with 5.1 sourround sound but that was dropped the last minute as many people lost the sound completely depending on their digibox (including me. I had no sound at all in the programme before the final for some time and I later discovered they were trying the sound out). It looks like all digiboxes cannot receive the new sound and therefor go mute.... Already last night some Remu fans were complaining they couldn't vote for him all night. Today it was discovered YLE had provided wrong information to media beforehand, including some newspapers like Ilta-Sanomat. On TV the info was right. " It was my mistake. I feel so stupid " says YLE's Aila Havia-Venäläinen in today's Ilta-Sanomat. "There was one zero missing from the numbers, but it wasn't only Remu but all direct finalists." Also Ilta-Sanomat apologies for the mistaken info given.

or Nenäpäivä (Red nose day) is live on TV right now and the phonelines to donate money and the show is going on well til tomorrow. Hanna Pakarinen, Jari Sillanpää, Paula Koivuniemi, Maria Lund, Johanna Kurkela and Remu are amogst the celebrities who will be answering the phones and/or performing during the night. The money will be donated through Red Cross, UNICEF and other organisations to suffering children in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Nepal, Sierra Leone and Honduras. Some will be also used by Comic Relief to AIDS work in Africa. Also Jippu was there, back to Nairobi following the last year's project's developments. And Jari Sillanpää did a Finnish cover of Nirvana's Smells like teen spirit in rather unusual way (but it was pretty fantastic!). Johanna Kurkela followed with fantastic version of Nothing else matters . We must get Johanna back to Euroviisut asap! Over 1.137.500 euros donated during the show.
