Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Alice and Franco Battiato joined forces for their first ever tour together this year that turned out rather triumphant and sold out everywhere and with added concerts and a second leg of the tour this fall. Now the whole affair, recorded live in Rome on March 16 and 17 with the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra will be released as a CD+DVD and even as a double-LP.  Sadly the album's art cover isn't maybe the most fortunate one and leaves this blogger (among others) rather confused, but it's the inside that counts, right? But also that's a bit problematic: Not the whole concert is included, sadly missing also I treni di Tozeur and Nomadi among others, it seems, but the tracklisting of the DVD is not yet made public so who knows? The fans of Alice haven't been very pleased with the tracklist, and her treatment in the tour as a luxury guest as someone pointed out, instead of the other headliner. Still, this is a must buy for any fan for the ure joy of her releasing so...

Alice and Franco Battiato have been touring all over Italy this year with their completely sold out tour that will end July 30 in the famous Greek theater of Taormina in Sicily. Now when the second leg of the tour - after an early summer break - is in full swing it is announced there will be also a live album - and most likely also a DVD - of the tour to be released later this year. But that is not all: Alice slipped in an interview there have been also talk about a joint studio album with new material to be recorded some time in the future. How cool would that be?! Their musical history is very much linked to each other with some duets and Alice covering many Battiato songs and songs Battiato has written for her over the deecades. But a duet album would be something new and oh, so awesome! But more certain seems a new album by Alice to be recorded next. Italian Eurovision 1984 entrants Alice and Franco Battiato have been colaborating on and off since 1980 in various albums, songs and occasional live performancs together, especially in the 2010's. But now, nearly four decades later they are touring together for the very first time. The joint affair seems them doing their solo songs, joining for their duets and a few other songs. This is manna from heaven for their fans and needless to stay the long Italian tour is pretty much sold out beforehand (so far 22 ou of 32 concerts). The anteprima concert took place in Carpi on February 13. There might (and I think should) be changes to the track list that you can see after the jump. The tour starts for real from Trieste tonight.
