Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Another look & listen of what Eurovision (related) artists have been releasing lately... The Balcan Queen Kaliopi released late last year  Hajde da pjevamo   asking us all to sing along in her pop rock song looking 50+ fabulous topped with her one of a kind voice.  Shiri Maimon is back with   נ שימה (Breathing) off her new album, first in seven years. It comes with a simple yet effective video. She has been busy with musicals and tv-projects the past few years, including the Next Star for Eurovision.... Latvian  Brainstorm aka  Prāta Vētra perform the main theme  Мотив (The motive) of a Russian romantic comedy Семь ужинов (Seven dinners) and even star in the film's final scene. Very nice song indeed! Vincent Gross has gone a long way since his attempt to represent Switzerland in Eurovision. Now he has teamed with German Stereoact for Nicht allein sein , a catchy fun pop song that flirts with tradition an...

There was not a shadow of doubt in this blogger's mind Margaret would walk this with Cool me down . And she does bring Poland its first ever victory. Sweden once again scores well with the fans placing second (which this blogger doesn't understand) but the rest of the top is rather in line what I thought. Finland's Mikael Saari did better than I believed and Switzerland's Vincent Gross way too low for my liking....  Check out the full results after the jump

Remember Switzerland who chose it's six finalists in various selections already ages ago? Well, it feels like ages ago but the final's going to be tonight. Six artists and songs are left and all six are going to perform also another song, a cover. What's the purpose of that at this stage if not only to fill in some spare time? I don't know but maybe Swiss television thinks it's a good idea....  Anyways, below are the artists with their songs (and their covers). Oh, and Kaceo present a cleaned up version of their entry without various chiens, putans, culs, nichons, pipes and fucks just to mention a few... But my vote goes to Vincent. Stanley. Rykka. The Swiss Expertencheck took hours and hours and hours ..... and finally we have the six who made the cut. My favourites Vincent and Stanley made it, as did Rykka so I can't complain. The three Swiss broadcasters have all come up with their entrie for the Expert Check to be held on Sunday December 6. The six best ones according the expert jury will go on to the natonal final on February 13, 2016 and the winner gets the ticket to Stockholm and Eurovision song contest 2016. Among the 19 we find two Spanish artists; Maika Barbero from La Voz and American dancer Stanley Miller aka Chipper who has been doing career in Spain even in Operacion Triunfo. Rykka is Canadian-Swiss, and Nathalie is Swiss-Brazilian. Evelyn Zangger has participated in the Swiss Popstars, while Stephanie Sandoz has collaborated with very big French names from Florent Pagny to Zazie. Patric Scott and Loic Shumacher are already familiar names from Swiss selections, as is Elias Bertini. If I were to choose I would pick up these , with option for these .  SRF or German speaking television Erica Arnold - Ich bin ich Vincent Gross - Half a smile   ** Samuel Tobias Klauser - Aski...
