Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

North Macedonia - Vasil -You The start is promising and then nothing much happens. The best parts are the tango elements, I just wish there was more of it! Why not go for it and fully explore that territory, throw in a proper instrumental break for a great dance routine on stage? Now the break is just some vocal whining on floor and then nothing happens for the grand finale. The idea and the ingredients are there but this is not delivering. Sad. Therefor only 6/10 Croatia - Damir Kedžo - Divlji Vjetre I kinda liked this when it was selected. Then I listened it a few more times and absolutely loved it. This is what I want from Eurovision, be it old fashioned or not: a proper song in native language and you can hear from which part of Europe it comes from. Damir is a great vocalist and sings the hell out of this live. Just the way it should be! Uku Suviste (37), singer-songwriter, pianist and producer will not a direct pass to Eurovision 2021 according Estonian television but only a free pass to the Eesti laul 2021 semi-finals that he's willing to use. He was third time lucky winning it this year with What love is. Uku has been around already for almost 20 years. In his early career 2004-2008 he took part multiple times in Uno Naissoo and Kaks takti ette competitions winning awards every time. Numerous television appearances followed, he did Estonian Tour Face sounds Familiar as well as Dancing with the Stars and was a regular on musical stages. He also did New Wave placing third and took part in the Russian The Voice. On top of that in 2010 he was voted The Sexiest Man in Estonia. What love is his 16th single but he hasn't released an album so far....  

Estonia's Eesti laul final took place in Tallinn last Saturday and 37-year-old Uku Suviste was third time lucky winning the contest with What love is . Uku has been around in music since early 2000's and is a singer-songwriter, pianist and producer who after music studies in Tallinn continued in Berklee Collage of Music in Boston. Many talent shows and television shows and appearances from local Your Face Sounds Familiar and Dancing with stars to Russian The Voice and New Wave and has even been selected as Estonia's Sexiest Man in 2010. A lot of discussion was caused after his victory as some thought the amount of televotes he got was suspicious. And rightly so, after all Philip Kirkorov is there somewhere behind him.
