First of all some thoughts about the Dutch selection. In all its insanity it still had a chance. I mean, if one can turn Hard rock hallelujah that is a hard rock song to techno, acoustic ballad, big band swing jazz and male choir version, just to name a few, without trouble and it always sounds good I thought these Dutch people will make great DIFFERENT version of this schlager reggae nightmare. Instead we got 5 versions of the same demo, just changing the singer. Maybe Sieneke was a bit more schlager á la Lotta Engberg, Vinzzent had a tiny Carin´bian latino light feeling to it, Loekz had a hint of oriental reggae in it, Peggy added a flute to it and Marlous only Barbie looks but in the end of the day it was the same boring song, same rhythm without any variation. Only the amount of annoyance and maybe Vinzzent was the one that annoued me the least. What's the point?
Anyways it all ended as insanily as the whole process was: the jurors divided 2-2 between Sieneke (17) and the multinational girlgroup Loeks while the public's vote went to Vinzzent. Then Pierre Kastner was to pick up the winner but didn't - or didn't he just realize what he had created? - anyways... in the end Sieneke it is. Good luck! You are gonna need it!
UPDATE: This is what I ment. Why didn't we hear anything like this last night? The song is almost good this way!
