CONCHITA WURST: THE ALBUM AND THE TRACKLIST

Conchita Wurst has revealed the tracklisting for her debut album to be released on May 15. The album obviously includes her Eurovision winner Rise like a Phoenix, the follow up singles Heroes and You are unstoppable. Her pre-Eurovision singles Unbreakable and That's what I am are not included. Shame, as this blogger likes both of them. They could have been included as "bonustracks" I guess. Anyhow, this is a must purchase!

SONGS OF THE YEAR 2015: #5 KRISTA SIEGFRIDS - ON & OFF

Krista Siegfrids is delivering nice pop tunes one after another and this one is particularly catchy and soon you will be singing along..... Hopefully her Melodifestivalen entry will be equally good!

ESC 2016 WISH LIST: MARGARET FOR POLAND

Małgorzata Jamroży aka Margaret has also been tipped for Eurovision and apparently she did turn it down but she'd be perfect. She's got a look and persona you can't unnotice nor forget, she's got hit songs, she has been voted or nominated for everything from Trendy artist to the Hope of the Year, Fashion Icon and Glamour Woman of the year besides the usual best video, song, album, debut..... Oh she's also a fashion designer! She's very clever with social medias and would surely use it to her advantage if selected for Stockholm 2016. Her debut album is titled Add the blonde , do we need to say more? Except it includes mostly Swedish written pop tunes like Tell me how are ya , Wasted , Start a fire and Heartbeat . And of course her debut single and internationally noticed Thank you very much that you can enjoy below with all its anti-textil feel. I think she's Eurovision perfection, she's cheeky and fun, can we have her?

EUROVISION 2025 ITALY: OLLY WINS SANREMO - BUT WHAT ABOUT EUROVISION?

The five day and night long marathon of 75th Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo came to conclusion at 02.05 o'clock. The ranking announcement created quite a reaction when Achille Lauro was called 7th and total chaos when Giorgia 6th. It's worth remembering Mahmood was 6th in 2024 but scored by far the biggest hit, in fact the biggest hit of 2024 in Italy, not only from Sanremo. Had he made the Top-5.... who knows? When she came on stage to pick up the TIM award people were shouting "You have won! You have won!" She was very, very emotional. Brunori Sas picked an award for the best lyrics, Cristichhi for the best music, and critic's awards went to Cristicchi and Lucio Corsi. The artists were asked to sign an agreement if they intent to do Eurovision song contest for Italy shoudl they win. If the winner declines the runner up gets the right, then the third placed etc. Generally the artists stay quite tight lipped about the fact and this year is no exception...

EUROVISION 2025 PORTUGAL: FESTIVAL DA CANCAO - LISTEN TO THE SONGS

Portugal sticks to its already familiar selection system and Festival da Canção, A total of 633 submission were made for the open call songs and six were selected along with the 14 invited composers. As always, the composers have free hands to pick up an artist and a song. As usual there are two semi-final (on February 22 and March 1) and the grand final on March 8, 2025. The composers were announced early November and the artists and song titles later. Invited composers - who in most cases ended up performing themselves their song. It's good to hear Portugal still goes on its own path and musical style with very few exceptions to the rule. Then there's Henka milking the Käärijä/Bambie Thug thing - but I cenrtainly don't wish to hear a song like this from Portugal of all places -  and Emmy Curl going all musical while Bombazine takes us to nostalgic trip to 70's disco.  A Cantadeira - Responso à mulher  ** Bluay - Ninguém  ** Bombazine - Apago tudo  **** Emmy Cu...

ESC 2016 BELARUS: NAKED WITH WOLVES?

Today's funniest Eurovision related story comes from Belarus. Some sources claim Ivan wants to perform on stage naked and with live wolf or wolves. It surely would be a first on Eurovision stage! We have seen some forgotten underwear over the years, and some cardbox animals though..... Is it time to take things a bit further?  No, according the rules live animals are not allowed, and Eurovision being a family show nudity won't do either. (It seems to be ok to be half naked if you are a dancer though..... )

EUROVISION 2024 ARMENIA: PARG WINS DEPI EVRATESIL 2025

Armenia organized the national final Depi Evratesil again after few years but I must wonder why? The show for sounded a Moldovan auditions as there were so many shouty screamy performances, one lady in particular was searching for her notes full three minutes and another lady in white apparently twerked, but it looked like a newborn giraffe trying to stand up. Was it really them or was the sound off in the live show? Ok, this said the stage was pretty and they had put effort in most performances. Yet, when the last one came on stage she was a stand out looking and sounding professional even if the song  itself was missing; it was a stage show with choreography that even borrowed bits from her previous entry plus infamous Mirror mirror on the wall a bit too much. All that made the feeling of a medley half time show even more evident. I'm not a big fan of this kind of Eurovision entries. The other decent ones were Parg and Simon even if any of them need a lot of polishing to d...

EUROVISION 2025 LITHUANIA: KATARSIS WINS EUROVIZIJA.LT

Lithuania's Eurovizija.LT will crowned Katarsis as expected as  the entry for the Eurovision song contest 2025 tonight. In the end two of those were added to the final's line up as wildcard; Black Biceps that tied with the two qualifiers in semi-final 3 and Liepa that tied with the second place in semi-final 4, so it was simple mathematics and easy choice.  Katarsis is Lithuanian alternative dark post-punk band. The band consists of Lukas Radzevičius (guitar, vocals), Andrius Gruodis (guitar, backing vocals), Emilija Kandratavičiūtė (bass guitar), and Eivin Laukhammer (drums).
