EBU and Svante gave their press conference stating they were happy for the outcome of the first semifinal. The biggest revelation is actually that the Top-10 by the televote and back up juries is exactly the same!
Besides the participating countries this year's contest is broadcasted also in Australia, Austria (coming most likely back again next year...), Kasachstan (maybe joining, too) and New Zealand amongst others.
The winner's tour and the TV-programmes Eurovision Countdown will be featured also next year. An Eurovision song contest movie is in the plans, too.
The dates for the 54th Eurovision song contest in Russia... err, somewhere will be most likely on May 12th, 14th and 16th, 2009. (See, coming up north the dates are again earlier. Why?)
Finally the winner will get a trophy that will be the same every year (look at the lovely palm tree award Sanremo festival has had since forever! And Melodifestival created one a few years ago, too, and even gave it to all the old winners! EBU should do the same: invite all the winners to claim their trophy!!)
Oh, and Lys Assia, the first ever winner from 1956 was there with Marija Serifovic, last year's winner....
