Today it was the first dress rehearsal for the first semi and things didn't work out it seems. The rehearsal was stopped not only once but twice for sound problems and who knows what and obviously it run overtime, Armenia had to start over again and many artists seemed not to be in top form.
It all starts with some music, including Congratulations, Waterloo and Volare. Zeljko and Jelena keep changing dresses and the postcards are colorful. From the reports one can learn that Boaz from Israel is wearing very revealing pants besides the vest that showcases his muscles. Moldova was a sleeping pill and Geta's vocals were not in top form, neither was Nicola from San Marino (well, watch the video from Welcome Party and one can make 1+1!). The Azeri guys instead seem to have nailed each note perfectly this time while Rebeka from Slovenia was once again flat... Poland's Isis performs evening's second strip tease (after Rebeka) and was once again vocally strong... or was she? This is where the sound disappeared and the rehearsal had to be stopped! Ireland has tuned down the messy vocals a bit but still have problems with camera angles. Andorra was a total disaster, one can read. Gisela's vocals were flat and notes missed and her dress and hairdo didn't help. How come Andorra manages to make a mess year after year? Who's in charge of staging?? Fire him! Now! Bosnia-Herzegovina's crazy performance was warmly welcomed by the nearly empty Arena and after that the rehearsal was stopped again. Why?
Sirusho from Armenia seem to have lost the battle with Hind from the Netherlands again. When Hind shines and sings like an angel Sirusho shouts through her song.... Unfortunately the armenians all over Europe will vote for her anyways. Everyone seems to agree Finland was very good again in its genre, but is it a genre thelevoters will go for this year? Fans may not like but the betting odds promise Finland a place in the final. After Finland Romania gives a nice contrast and is considered a sure finalist, like the two following entries: Russia and Greece. Dima gets a big applause already during the postcard and delivers a good performance even vocally. He knows when it matters, no matter the rehearsals so come Saturday night Russia is the one to beat. Kalomira seems rather amateurish and vocally poor after Dima but should go to the final without problems. The staging is good, the weakest link here is Kalomira herself and the song that is rather poor.
