Oh what a let down. Something is going on in Malmö 2024 Eurovision and I'm not sure we can blame it all on Israel. Not only have the rehearsals been more blinded than ever (then again, I'm all for closed doors rehearsals mind you), a big percentage of volunteers declining to come to work after all, the Eurovision street pretty much cancelled due to artists pulling out and so far the images from Eurovision Village have been sadly amusing in their emptiness and nothingness! I tried to watch the stream later. I ended up jumping ahead having a peak here and there and indeed it was useless nonsense. Where was fun? Glamour? Show? It was not Eurovision, it was like interviewing some reality tv wannabes before they kick off for some random reality adventure. Boring.
And now the much awaited Turquoise carpet. Blame the weather but what an earth was that? After the grandeur of Torino and Liverpool that was.... nothing. No fans allowed anywhere near, and the interviews conducted in an anonymous entrance hall with sad plastic plants and some lame curtains, no music. Oh dear... Remember Torino's beautiful setting, that hall way?! And on top of all that all was ended with an abrupt two minutes notice so that likes of Baby Lasagna, Olly Alexander and Slimane didn't even have time to meet the press (but some sources says Baby Lasagna just left right after the interview and photo shoot not staying to meet the press inside)
May it all be security issues or not the sudden ending and all that may sound like there was something going on. Could it be some security issue?
,too used to it. They do a great job with the show but they don't seem to ´have a heart and genuine interest for the rest anymore. Had Finland won last year things would be quite different in Tampere but then again I am now happy we didn't win. This 2024 season is a low tune event due to matters outside the Eurovision bubble but at least I do believe we would have made all related events work a bit more and with a lot of pride and joy.
