Here we go again! Once again Blogilkar's home jury has sat through the songs and videos and voted from 1 to 10. This year the jury consisted of pre-teens, 20somethings, 30somethngs, 40somethings and 50somethings. Even a dog participated and went nuts for Romania but was not allowed to vote. Most of the jury members had not heard any of the songs beforehand, some not even the Finnish one.And yes, this jury didn't care for betting odds, fan favorites or wanks but only their own taste and first impression!
I will be counting down from bottom to the top and here are places 9-12. Check out also places 13-16 here.
9. FINLAND - THE RASMUS - JEZEBEL (Average score 6,43)
Dated,
not going anywhere. The Rasmus as their best like when I liked them
back in the days, says one. I hated them back then and don't like
this one either, saýs another. This is very Finnish, said one right
at the intro who didn't know this was Finland's own entry! Reminds someone of Alice Cooper while another thinks last year's was better.
10. AUSTRIA - LUM!X feat. PIA MARIA - HALO (average score 6,43)
Pretty
much alone in its genre this will maybe stand out a bit? Beats like a
train and it all comes down to her vocals. 3 Am at disco with a bit
alcohol in my blood I will dance the hell out of this, otherwise not
so much stated one. Nothing new, original. Good beat. Ear worm. Catchy.
11. BELGIUM - JÉRÉMIE MAKIESE - MISS YOU (Average score 6,42)
Not bad, but not very catchy either. Great voice, not so great a dancer. One juror fell totally in love. Continues the gospel vibe at Eurovision that dominated last year.
12. ICELAND - SYSTUR - MEð HæKKANDI SÓL (Average score 6,29)
Wonderful
atmosphere, in Icelandic, those gentle voices, the soothing sound. Calm
and beautiful, I fell into trance, in a good way. Love this, straight
to my playlist. First Aid Kit-ish. On the other hand some didn't get this at all.....
