Here we go again! Once again Blogilkar's home jury has sat through the songs and videos and voted from 1 to 10. This year the jury consisted of pre-teens, 20somethings, 30somethngs, 40somethings and 50somethings. Even a dog participated and went nuts for Romania but was not allowed to vote. Most of the jury members had not heard any of the songs beforehand, some not even the Finnish one.And yes, this jury didn't care for betting odds, fan favorites or wanks but only their own taste and first impression!
I will be counting down from bottom to the top and here are places 17-20. Check out also places 21-24 here.
17. GERMANY - MALIK HARRIS - ROCKSTARS (Average score 6,00)
Eminem
without Dido? Heard before, modern yet very 90's at the same time.
Somehow likable. I don't mind hearing this again, and again. Quite ok, a bit too slow at times. Not really sure how this will work on stage if done the German national final style.....
18. SAN MARINO - ACHILLE LAURO - STRIPPER (Average score 6,00)
Authentic
personality for those who knew him beforehand. A mesmerizing persona
for those who didn't. A true star on stage even if the song is a meh.
He could have done so much better. Oh yeah, rock'n'roll! The stage show in Turin will be surely something to remember and nothing like the one here on video.
19. SPAIN - CHANEL - SLOMO (Average score 5,85)
A bit weird, monotonous refrain. She's amazing and a real star, and this really works with the choreography, very J.Lo and indeed this was apparently written her in mind but she wasn't interested. Sadly the studio version keeps repeating the monotonous refrain rather than having the dance break music on it.
20. SWEDEN - CORNELIA JAKPBS - HOLD ME CLOSER (Average score 5,84)
Shallow anyone? Sounds very heard before and the backing track is a mess but she delivers with such a roaring voice and emotion that it's almost unheard for a Swedish bubble gum pop at Eurovision. She has managed to bewitch the fandom but not so sure she can do that with the European wide televoting audience.
