LITHUANIA: PADANDOM IS NAUJO 2021 FINAL TONIGHT

Pabandom iš Naujo 2021, the Lithuanian national final for Eurovision song contest takes place tonight. Lithuania is one of those countries who decided to go on with the national final this year, too, but granted last year's winners The Roop a wild card straight to the final, while the other six have gone through two heats and a semi-final. Despite that The Roop is the super favorite to win tonight as their video has already gone viral breaking all sort of national records of views on Youtube and so on.
Voldemars Petersons won the first heat, Gebrasy the second and the semi-final where Voldemars placed only 4th. Martyna was only third in the first heat but already runner up in the semi-final. Evita was third both in her heat and the semi-final while second heat's runner up Gabrielius Vagelis didn't even survive the semi-final....

Evita Cololo - Be paslapčių **
Nice atmospheric jazzy ballad, that will appeal to experts in the jury but televoters won't care for I suppose..
Gebrasy - Where'd you wanna go? ***
Another atmospheric ballad that has scored full points from both jury and televoters in both heat and semi-final. Makes me wonder who he is? Is he famous and in? A big one? Because the song isn't that special or great. But it's not bad.... (video)
Martyna Jezepčikaitė - Thank you very much *
This has pretty much that I don't care for: rainbow flagged ugly dresses (that I expected to be ripped off any minute in true Bucks Fizz style), pseudo sexy awkward choreography - if you do it, do it OTT like Maruv! and shouty nonsense song that ends before it goes nowhere. Thank you, next!
The Roop - Discotheque *****
I loved them last year and still prefer that one, but this is great, too. Thankfully very different but having the same ingredients with choreography and singer's facial theater and tongue in cheek approach. Catchy, fun and enjoyable. If they don't win there's something seriously wrong in Lithuania. All this said this does not give Eurovision winner vibes but a good placing would be easily coming.  Video on Youtube has already 2,5 million views if that's an indication of things to come?
Titas & Benas - No **
Another rather anonymous and forgettable tune one can only wonder how it made this far, are they famous?  Oh, X Factor? Ok.... The song's not worth it but it's not bad. Nice. But that's not enough.
Voldemars Petersons - Never fall for you again ****
Charming little catchy tune, that could make an impact like it did in the first heat, and then sadly lost some of it with further hearings like in semi-final. If they can lit the sparkle again could be a contender. But a bit of a weird combo in styling and look department, a real miss match in the semi-final, heat was a bit better. Fix that!

SONGS OF THE YEAR 2015: #5 KRISTA SIEGFRIDS - ON & OFF

Krista Siegfrids is delivering nice pop tunes one after another and this one is particularly catchy and soon you will be singing along..... Hopefully her Melodifestivalen entry will be equally good!

ESC 2016 WISH LIST: MARGARET FOR POLAND

Małgorzata Jamroży aka Margaret has also been tipped for Eurovision and apparently she did turn it down but she'd be perfect. She's got a look and persona you can't unnotice nor forget, she's got hit songs, she has been voted or nominated for everything from Trendy artist to the Hope of the Year, Fashion Icon and Glamour Woman of the year besides the usual best video, song, album, debut..... Oh she's also a fashion designer! She's very clever with social medias and would surely use it to her advantage if selected for Stockholm 2016. Her debut album is titled Add the blonde , do we need to say more? Except it includes mostly Swedish written pop tunes like Tell me how are ya , Wasted , Start a fire and Heartbeat . And of course her debut single and internationally noticed Thank you very much that you can enjoy below with all its anti-textil feel. I think she's Eurovision perfection, she's cheeky and fun, can we have her?

ESC 2016 BELARUS: NAKED WITH WOLVES?

Today's funniest Eurovision related story comes from Belarus. Some sources claim Ivan wants to perform on stage naked and with live wolf or wolves. It surely would be a first on Eurovision stage! We have seen some forgotten underwear over the years, and some cardbox animals though..... Is it time to take things a bit further?  No, according the rules live animals are not allowed, and Eurovision being a family show nudity won't do either. (It seems to be ok to be half naked if you are a dancer though..... )

GREECE: HELENA PAPARIZOU HITS AGAIN WITH HAIDE

Eurovision song contest 2005 winner Helena Paparizou has been enjoying Top-5 hits every year since 2003 with the exception of 2010 and 2014, this latest one being already her 27th! And Haide is charting also in Bulgaria and Finland, of all places. The catchiness of her hits has changed less over the years than her face....  Here's the English version , below the Greek version.

TIM SCHOU AND HIS NAKED GRAVITY

Tim Schou has a pretty good solo career going since he left his friends in London. He's travelling the world and relesing songs and videos. The latest one is a great track and comes with a steamy video that kinda takes away from the song really. But who's complaining. If you got it, flaunt it. Enjoy the video below. This post coming after the other Dane, Rasmus Seebach as wishlist for Eurovision. To think about it, Tim would do nicely, too. Maybe he should give it another go?

CAROLA'S BOOBS STEAL THE SHOW, SVT APOLOGIES

Update! Another thing got Swedes talking last night: Carola's boobs when she was giving away an award. This is not the first time her boombs cause headlines; her misfortunate adventures in the 80's in Japan wer explained with her boobs being too big for Japanese market. Ok.... Or was it the song ? Anyways, Carola apologies and says she thinks the dress is stylish and elegant (even her friends said so) and she's a mature woman in her 40s, not a 16-year-old girl and looks like one. The Swedish Oscars, Guldbagge awards were given out last night. Carola was there as a guest star to sing Barbra Streisand's The way we were when honoring the movie stars who passed away during 2012. However, the cameras were too much on Carola, not on the stars showed in photos in the background and that upset many viewers as that part of the show was to celebrate them, not Carola. Oh well...  The producer of the show tells in Aftonbladet the part of the show was made the sam...

EUROVISION 2025 SWEDEN: KAJ WINS MELODIFESTIVALEN 2025

The long, loooong Swedish Melodifestivalen reached its climax after six weeks. In the end it was set to be a duel between Eurovision veteran and winner Måns Zelmerlöw and his utterly polished and perfect revolution and fresh and crazy nonsense by the Finnish band KAJ. KAJ was clearly the winner is streaming and video views and chart action beforehand. Also the only song in Swedish this year in the final, and even a Swedish dialect spoken in a small area in Finland only. In the end KAJ won. This is a bit like Cha cha cha phenomenon. Finland is the new Eurovision superpower; we have Finland, Estonia and Sweden in Basel! How I like happy endings! KAJ is a Finnish group from Swedish speaking Ostrobothnia region and sing in their Vörå dialect. The trio is Kevin Holmströn, Axel Åhman and Jakob Noorgård and they have been working together since 2009. They pop-folk.rock-schlager music is often spiced up with satire and humor. They have produced two musicals for Wasa Theater and have been award...

EUROVISION 2025 SAN MARINO: GABRY PONTE WINS SAN MARINO SONG CONTEST 2025

The most insane national selection - in size and details - has come to an end. After zillions of auditions and heats and twists and turns and semi-finals that didn't air and got results no one could keep up with (read more here and here ) And it all ended as expected, hoped and wished by the fandom: the Sanremo 2025 theme song became San Marino's entry. One couldn't make this up. Tutta l'Italia features vocals by Andrea Bonomo (46), Italian singer-songwriter and well known author for also other artists including Eros Ramazzotti, Annalisa, Emma Marrone, Marco Mengoni (Voglio) and Nek (incl. Fatti avanti amore) just to name a few. His career started in Sanremo 2008 Newcomers.  Gabriele Gabry Ponte (51) is one of the most succesful and well known Italian Dj's and producers. Back in the day I went crazy for the Djs Molella, Fargetta and Gabry, enjoy below some of his biggest hits on my liking! He started with Eiffel 65 who hit the global charts with Blue (Da Ba Dee), a...
