The time has come. YLE will be accepting submission to UKM18 next weekend September 1-4. For a remainder YLE has published the rules in short:
1. The song must be previously unreleased
2. The artists must be 16 years old on May 10, 2018
3. At least one of the authors and the lead singer(s) must be of Finnish nationality,
or have a permanent recidency here
4. One entry per artist is accepted
5. The song may not be entered to any other country's selection
6. The song may be max 3 minutes, and performed by max 6 people
7. The entry and other materials must be sent to YLE in digital form (no CD)
between September 1 9am and September 4 9pm local time.
8. By sending an entry you agree on rules.
9. If you win, the EBU rules apply.
10. Read more about the rules here (in Finnish)
It's worth remembering earlier this year YLE already searched those unmatched entries, or songs without a performer, and performers without songs. Out of all submission from these two channels YLE is likely to invite songwriters and producers themselves to add to the lot and then pick up the finalists for the national final.
