Another day of rehearsals and it's already day 6 in Dusseldorf. The past days I have been blogging based on the videos I have seen on various sites but I have not read the comments by various writers and bloggers as I didn't want them to influence me and see the performances in a different way, like "they all like this and I don't, am I wrong? Should I say something nice?" but now after I did some reading I noticed I have agreed with most of them. Not always of course, that's the beauty of Eurovision or anything related with people's taste. Quite often I have paid attention to the same detail as other bloggers - a good example is Romania and its dancing girls. So, all seems to be fine so here we go again!
First on stage this morning was Iceland with their guys in jeans, white shirts and vestcoats. They perform very well and it looks and sounds fine. I am starting to think they will qualify after all as it seems they manage to create the right atmosphere and get people humming along. Or will they just hum but not pick up the phone?
Next one of the pre-contest favourites Hungary that failed to deliver in the first rehearsal. She wasn't wearing her questionable blue dress but maybe that's her outfit after all. The confusing dancers are there - if it was for me I would have replaced them with backing singers as the big chorus towards the end in recorded version is my favourite part of the song and now lacks power with only two backing singers. But they are better conrdinated this time and one of them was wearing the LED outfit I guess they all will be wearing. The stage lightining is ok, so was Kati vocally but this doesn't look and sound like a winner at all. It could even end up doing the Kate Ryan at this point. Such a shame!
And after Hungary we had Portugal. Yes, they have also a sign in Finnish: Taistelu on ilo.
