I have seen quite a few national final but I guess I hit the rock bottom tonight. Even if I didn't have high expectations it's rare today see such a technically bad programme. And un-smiley Eurovision. I wish I could say something nice but the words escape me. The audience didn't help much as they looked like they miserable throughout the show and as if they were forced to sit and watch as punishment - what did they do? And why was the director showing them in every given chance? (If you compare to the Spanish show later same night it's like day and night)
The four ladies came and went each equally missing notes and words and only Eldar was worth listening to - and the only one who managed to crap any reaction from the audience. But this was just another Eurovision karaoke show that went on and one and on. When the fourth round started I was ready to throw in the towel but you know how it is, you just sit and keep watching....

But with every round it was more evident the only choise would be Eldar, whatever he sung it was beautiful instead of painful. I started to wonder if they wanted to redo the whole long selection process again but squeezed into one night? At some point we had Safura, Sofia Nidzarazhe, Anna Rossinelli and Senit appearing but it was only a relief between the endless rounds, especially Sofia and Senit who showed one can actually sing live and sound good.
And just when you thought it can't get any worse here comes Safura playing the vamp in the hood but when you don't have it, you don't have it. And playback was a relief to anyone's ears.
And then it end with a surprise: Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal will go as a duet to Germany....
