Daniel Motiño Camúñez reports
Destino Eurovisión audience have been going down again: only 1.300.000 viewers or 7,6% share. This is lost of 1,9% share and 285.000 viewers from last week. The first gala was seen by 2.050.000 viewers, the most viewed show of Friday night. The third gala had also its drama touch, since it has been discovered that when the juries were discussing which artists should be in the big final and TVE was delivering a compilation about the worst hairdos in Eurovision history, someone forgot to switch-off the microphone from Boris and everybody in the program and at home could listen him stating "I do not think it is a big idea to have two women in the final. We have been discussing previously about this" - not to say that he was not telling his on his best manner, but on his histerical way to talk. At the end it seems like his influence in the jury was flat zero.As Ilkar announced before, yesterday RTVE has published the names of the nine songs to be performed in the final and which is more important: how the gala will work.
Each artist will sing one minute from each song, then the jury will dismiss one of the songs. The artists wil sing again the two remaining songs 1,5 minutes this time, and the jury will decide which song makes it to the big final. In the end Melissa, Auryn and Lucía Perez will perform the whole version of the song that's left and the audience will decide which one goes to Düsseldorf. This is not good for Melissa.
About the 9 finalists, foreign composers have beaten the Spanish ones 6 to 3, taking in consideration that 7 songs came from foreign language composers is a big defeat for the local ones. If we add to this that Rafael del Alba lives in London, it makes only 2 Iberian survivors.
Jonas Gladnikoff, Camilla Gottschalck and Christina Schilling who were the composers of Irish entries in 2009 and 2010, this time together with the Slovenian Primoz Poglajen are competing with two songs, the same number as Susie Päivärinta. She is a Swede of Finnish origin and took part in Melodifestivalen 1989 and 2009 with her sister Lili. Thomas G Son, another Swede, is there again with one. EOS, one of the songs qualified was initially composed for María Lopez, before it was announced that singers and composers will take different ways. Now Melissa will perform it, Rafael Artesero the third Spaniard is also the creator of Andorra 2005 and 2006.
Among the dismissed ones, Mikel Herzog with his song Eres todo lo que quiero (You are everything I want) but we do not really want you sweetheart, and the song Peligroso (Dangerous) from William Luque, who has composed several hits for Chenoa.
As an emblematic note, TVE has confirmed that no jokers will take part in the final - really Colombo?
Let's stay tunned to check if the songs will be published before Friday and God save us all! I will keep in eye at Italy, just in case I need to change my support country this year.
