It's time to kick of the usual reviews. The opinions are all mine and if I don't like some song it's simply just not my cup of tea so to speak. If I like something you dislike or hate, it's fine, too. No stresso, no need to be depresso it's just music and tastes that re diverse and therefor beautiful! I also try to predict their success come May a little bit but as we know once the staging is out everything may change, remember Fuego and Rise like a phoenix for example?
For this series I have grouped the songs in fours as usual as the songs may have similarities or something in common. Some fours came out beautifully, the others.... well not so well. Here comes the fifth part!
CZECHIA - ADONXS - Kiss kiss goodbye
He premiered the song as acoustic version in Malta of all places and the fandom melted and screamed winner. Indeed it was a stunning debut and might give Czechs their best finish come May. When the final version was released with its dance break it was quite a shock but in the end live it seems to work very well, after all he's also a dancer. Classic good song, recognizable voice, memorable presence from the heights of 2 meters (I suppose) he'll make Czechia proud. Can he reach Top-5? Maybe not but Top-10 seems secured.
GREECE - Klavdia - Asteromáta
Stunningly beautiful song, fantastic vocals, also a memorable presence with her glasses like young Nana Mouskouri. The staging will be changed and good as it was a bit meh in the Greek selection. If there's any justice this will do very well in the final but I'm afraid it will be something between 15th and 20th. Deserves better though. There's also acoustic version, that highlights songs beauty ever more. Extra points for covering wonderfully my last year's number one Mon amour.
MONTENEGRO - Nina Žižić - Dobrodošli
This gor revamped from the original, she's done also an acoustic version but nothing seems to lift this from last places in the odds and it's such a shame. She's great vocalist, has beautiful voice, the song is melodic power ballad with a hint of Bond themes and deserves so much more love than it is receiving. Most likely will NQ also thanks to its running order. For me a clear qualifier but it's not up to me sadly.
FRANCE - Louane - Maman
France was first to reveal their song last year and Slimane's Mon amour stayed my #1 with every new song released and after Eurovision as well. Louane was the last this year and didn't quite manage to hit the top. I do like this but the endless maman maman, maman kinda kills the mood of the beautiful verses. This said great voice, beautiful song and probably indeed will reach the top-5 in the end depending on her performance and the staging that we still have no clue of. And if she gets to Basel in the end due to copyright issues with the song and the original Maman titled song she recorded back in 2015.
