This day in 1960 Jacqueline Boyer wins the 5th Eurovision song contest held in London's Royal Festival Hall with her song Tom Pillibi for France, beating UK' Looking high, high high and Monaco's Ce soir là, and the other 10 entries.
Jacqueline recorded the song also in English and in German. Her singing and acting career continues to this day, after a full stop in the late 1960's after a car accident. In the 1980's she moved to New York and restarted her career as ... Barbara Benton.
