The rehearsals started on stage in Liverpool arena for the Eurovision song contest 2023 four days ago and today we got to "see" the Big5 and Ukraine's first 30 minutes rehearsal. As Ebu once again is using TikTok for the short tiny rehearsal clips I'm not going to care much of them. But here is a collection of photos and impressions and observations by your truly of the closed doors happenings. Mind you, I'm all in favor for this closed door policy: the delegations must have a little bit privacy and peace and quiet to polish their acts before they are given to the sharks aka fandom eager to criticize every tiny detail. And also I kinda like the idea we are given as little as possible to watch before the shows so there will be surprises and wow effect - if you have seen it all beforehand where's the fun? The first rehearsal is 30 minutes for each meaning 3-4 run through. After that the delegation gathers to a viewing room and changes are discussed and made for the next rehearsal with the local team. Ok, let's go again!

Gender fluid rockers in their extravagant outfits. A lot of pyros. A lot of red. They have a triangle shaped metal scaffold. More pyros. And smoke. And red.
I have to just copy this from eurovision.tv as it's a bit too much to describe:
Ooh la la, this is FABULOUS. It’s Edith Piaf meets Lady Gaga, with La Zarra standing on top of a sparkle-draped plinth wearing a fitted gown made entirely from black and red sequins. And when we say 'plinth', we mean a moving column five metres off the ground, draped in sparkly black fabric all the way to the floor. The fabric disappears to reveal a cylindrical column with a mirror-tiled top, upon which La Zarra is giving this vocal everything - bonus points for the French flag on the LED wall at the end. This is ART. Put it in the Louvre immediately.
Spain replicates the Benidorm fest performance with her five dancers/backing singers. Black, red and white, dramatic lighting and her passion and that voice. Still I have to say I kinda enjoy to watch the performance but do I enjoy listening only the song? No.
