The rehearsals started on stage in Liverpool arena for the Eurovision song contest 2023 yesterday and today we continue with the rest of the first semi-final, including Finland, and some first acts from the second semi-final.. As Ebu once again is using TikTok for the short tiny rehearsal clips I'm not going to care much of them. But here is a collection of photos and impressions and observations by your truly of the closed doors happenings. Mind you, I'm all in favor for this closed door policy: the delegations must have a little bit privacy and peace and quiet to polish their acts before they are given to the sharks aka fandom eager to criticize every tiny detail. And also I kinda like the idea we are given as little as possible to watch before the shows so there will be surprises and wow effect - if you have seen it all beforehand where's the fun? The first rehearsal is 30 minutes for each meaning 3-4 run through. After that the delegation gathers to a viewing room and changes are discussed and made for the next rehearsal with the local team. Ok, let's go again!

Reiley, the baby faced 25-year-old tiktoker from Faroe island has brought rather his video clip than national final selection staging to the Liverpool stage. It's colorful. He's not wearing his stage clothes yet even if he looks fine in his sparkly shirt anyways. He has a revolving set in three different parts each having its color and he moves through a door from one to another. Add LED wall and graphics also on floor. Sounds much better than the song to be honest. No, I'm not a big fan. maybe I'm a tad old for this?
She's wearing a kind of cave woman dress and is pretty much laying down (as does Serbia and Denmark just before and maybe someone else, too?) and it's all mellow and nice until the fierce rap verse and then lyrics in Armenian (hooray!). A lot of light and graphics action here, too, apparently.
Totally different from the national final performance (and for once we all sign in relief in unison!) Not only he has also changed the song's version being now half acoustic, half the one we know. NOT a sign in relief in unison here, I notice. Sadly his bright yellow shorts and jacket won't save him. Or his Picachu socks.Or giant himself on backdrop.
He's wearing pink and white, with his trademark huge hat. Add stairs, three backing vocalists and the video clips voguing superstars and drag queens in the backdrop in this 90's dance anthem.
Waterwalls and fire in the backdrop, smoke and flames as special effects for this Sedish ballad thta starts with a big note and ends with one as well. He's wearing a black vest showcasing his body. Because why not?
