The Sanremo procedure will be mainly the usual one. First nights mixing the young ones with the big ones, one night for celebration of some kind and then the final. But let's have a better look!
Tuesday February 12, 2013 Fabio Fazio will open the festival with Luciana Littizzetto next to him. All the eight newcomers will perform their songs without voting. Their songs are already online here. Seven out of the 14 Big artists will perform both of their songs (remember, they all have two songs this year!) and there will be 50-50 televote and jury (the journalists present) to choose only one song for them to go on. As always their songs will be only heard the night itself for the very first time.
Wednesday February 13, 2013 the other seven Big will perform and the voting for them is the same. Four out of the eight newcomers will perform again and face the same 50-50 televote-jury. Only two of them will go on.
Thursday February 14, 2013 the remaining four newcomers will perform their songs and face the 50-50 televote-jury. Once again only two of them will go on. The 14 Big will all perform their song selected, and there will be only televote. It's result will have 25% effect on the final result. And it seems the result will be made public.
Friday February 15, 2013 it's the newcomers final night. The qualified four will present their songs once again and 50-50 televote-press jury will. In between the 14 Big will perform songs under title "sanremo Story", or songs that have become worldwide hits originating from the festival since 1951.
Saturday February 16, 2013 it's the final night. The 14 Big will perform once again and the winner will be announced in the early hours of Sunday. During the night also the Italian Eurovision entrant will be revealed. Maybe. There hasn't been any confirmation of that as yet.
On Sanremo's website there's also a voting to find out what is the best Sanremo entry by Albano (he has 14 songs between 1968-2011) and Toto Cutugno (15 songs between 1976-2010). People have also a chance to tell the organization their Sanremo memories, like what is the song that is forgotten but merits to be remembered again? What's the most glamorous gaffe, the most unforgettable look or a song that brings back some special memories because linked to something special in one's life. Maybe all this will have something to do with the festival as well?
