Ukraine organized once again Vidbir, the national selection for Eurovision song contest. This time it was broadcast from Kiev's National museum of history of Ukraine WW II instead of underground metro station bunker. The show was hosted Eurovision veterans hosts Timur Miroshnychenko and Julia Sanina. Out of 389 submission 20 were selected for auditions and eventually ten chosen out of them. The 11th entry, Anka, was voted by people, as were the three judges as well. Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil won the final with outstanding numbers, nearly 7 times more votes than the second most voted act.

So, what do I think? I think Teresa & Maria is hauntingly beautiful and I loved it from the first hearing. I'm not a big fan of rapping but here it sits in nicely and I kinda enjoy it. If it was in English maybe less so but luckily it's in Ukrainian. The sung melody is almost religious hymn, so catchy and beautiful. This said, it is also at some degree similar to Stephania, and some people might think this is already used and heard but I'd rather think this is Stephania's little sister, or rather big aunt. And it's ok as one of the writers is none other than Ivan Klymenko. One of my favorites for sure. Our Home jury didn't warm up so much, scoring anything between 2 and 9, mostly 5's and 6's.
