The secrets are finally out and we have the full list of all guest stars at the Eurovision song contest 2022 in Turin and yes, Italy is giving us its best with a strong ties to the contest itself. Add some self irony, history, art and science and all things beautiful and Italian and we are going to have most wonderful time, I suppose.First semi-final is opened by a number that refers to Geppetto and Pinocchio, Leonardo Da Vinci, a cute little flying thing, drone named Leo that takes us over Turin skies (and later also to the postcards), the space and after uniting air, water, earth and fire creates the sun, aka the stage. All with music of course! The interval act makes us all dance to the Italodisco from the 70's to our days with Dardust, Benny Benassi, Sophie and the Giants and Sylvia Catasta. Then we have Diodato singing Fai rumore, the Italian entry for the cancelled Eurovision 2020 and a naturally born anthem during the pandemic times in Italy, and the showstopper in the Europe shine a light show . And a possible Eurovision 2020 winner had the contest taken place...The second semi-final is opened by one of the hosts Alessandro Cattelen in The Italian Way aka how the Italians always seem to get by and manage somehow in the end and succeed and shine, against all odds. The interval act continue the same Italian thing with The Italian gestures, a kind of sign language that only Italian can understand fully, if even them. Bruno Munari published in 1958 a supplementary Italian vocabulary to add to the spoken language. That will surely be fun! Then it's time for the other hosts Laura Pausini and Mika in a duet. And as dulcis in fundo Il Volo will return to belt out Grande amore, the televoting winner of 2015 Eurovision. In the final the opening act is The sound of peace with Rockin' 1000 playing Te Deum and John Lennon's Imagine followed by all three hosts on stage in a prayer for peace. The interval act Laura Pausini takes us to medley of her hits in five languages she sings and records (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, English) from her debut with La solitudine to her latest, La scatola. Last year's winner Måneskin return and perform their Zitti e buoni before handing the crystal microphone to a new winner. Mika sings his hits with a new song and even the first Eurovision winner Gigliola Cinquetti comes back and sings Non ho l'età again after 58 years. She also places second in 1974 behind ABBA plus co-hosted the show in 1991 after Toto Cutugno's win. Cutugno, who also co-hosted back in 1991 won't be present due to health problems it seems, otherwise Italy would have honored all their winners. (And moral winners.)
