Serbia takes another direction this year after big Balcan ballads with Cipela, performed by Marko Kon & accordionist Milan Nikolic. Marko (37) formed his first band when he was 9 and plays clarinet, pipe, saxophone, guitar, bass guitar and drums! He has written over 800 songs - including this one - and sung back up vocals on over 1.000 recordings. He already won Beovizija 2006 (the Serbian selection for Eurovision) but Serbia had to stay home that year after the scandalous Serbia-Montenegro final. Last year he co-arranged and co-produced the Montenegrin entry so peace must have been done. This is his solo singing debut.
Milan has studied music in Paris and graduated from Paris music conservatory in 2004. He has released 5 albums of instrumental music so far and has been collaborating with Marko the past few years.
Marko and Milan will be joined on stage by ballet dancer Katarina Gromilic (26). She's a regular in Beovizija backing various acts since 2005 and last year she was on stage in Belgrade 2008 with Marija Serifovic.
A trio of bald men - to compensate with Marko's wild hair? - will form a dancing backing singers group: Ljubisa Dincic (41), Igor Knezevic (36) and Jovan Sejnjanovic (37). All have a lot of experience in choirs. Besides that Ljubisa in an actor, Igor an English teacher and Jovan used to be soloist in children's choir.
