Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

It's summer and most every one is releasing summer songs with Latin flavour but not Jalisse. On the contrary. They go metal. Don't be afraid to call it love , they sing in their latest single and video featuring metal band Teodasia and the result is somewhat Nightwish-esque and against all odds it works as Alessandra's voice fits in very well, maybe even better than in some previous pop tunes they have released....  And guess what, by October they will publish a new album with only new songs! (About the time, too...)

James Newman, United Kingdom's 2020 Eurovision hopeful has now released The things we do EP that collects all his four songs released this year starting with his entry My last breath and followed by Better man and Enough , and finally Alone. All quality tracks and one can only hope BBC will call him up again for 2021 and he's willing to do it with better luck this time, and hopefully with even better song that My last breath is!

If someone told me back in 2019 when Achille Lauro arrived to Sanremo with his Rolls Royce that 1,5 years later I'll be expecting and excited about his album I would have laughed that off as a good joke. Yet here I am, listening to 1990 that is filled with covers or rather reworked versions of 1990's hits with guest stars like Alexia, Annalisa and Eiffel 65 liking it a lot. Truth to be said I kinda liked Rolls Royce but didn't quite dare to say it to even to myself aloud. Come Sanremo 2020 and Me ne frego and his fabulous outfits night after night, after the 1990 single, 16 Marzo and this summer's Bam bam twist . I'm a fan. Against all odds.  This album will be for the youngsters a similar discovery box as Janet Jackson's Janet album was with all its countless Motown samples. 

Senhit was due to represent San Marino in 2020 Eurovision song contest for the second time but for reasons we all know very well it's going to happen only in 2021. But she's not lazily waiting for next spring but will keep herself busy with a series of Eurovision covers until May 2021. Each month a new video, worked together with Italian art director and choreographer Luca Tommassini that will be a real work of art with transformation of her style and look with a real artistic video clip. The first one's out and it's the Belarusian entry 2014 Cheesecake by TEO, that finished 15th in the final. The song gets a whole new meaning with the video imaginary that throws in role and gender play and recent #Blacklifesmatter movement with references to Grace Jones, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring among others. 

  Amadeus and his side kick Fiorello have been finally confirmed as the hosts of the Sanremo 2021 music festival that will be held a month later as in the recent years from March 2 to 6 . The 71th festival is supposed to go on as usual in its usual form and an extra month will give more time for the insecurities the Covid-19 has caused. However, as we all know, nothing is for sure these days, so there is also a Plan B, just like for the Eurovision song contest in the making even if the aim is to have the festival as close to its usual format as possible and never put the Plan B in action. These dates shouldn't cause any problem selecting the winner for Eurovision 2021 as well. If things go wrong there's always the option to send this year's entrant Diodato after all.  In best case the Covid-19 is under control then and Sanremo can and will be the grand opening of the big music events and comeback for the many artists who have had to cancel their tours this year and...

  Mahmood has released music video for his latest release Dorado featuring Sfera Ebbasta and Feid. Once again he digs into his Egyptian roots in both lyrics and video imaginery.  Meanwhile his debut album Gioventu bruciata has sold platinum and this Dorado is already fourth single off his second album to be released later this year. The previous three have all charted in Top-5 and Barrio has sold douple platinum, Rapide platinum. Moonlight popolare will propably reach platinum soon as well. On top of that he has also released Redemption song and Eternantena . Busy guy!
