The Finnish top-300 of the 2000's, vol 30

6. MÄ PUTOAN - YÖLINTU
Yölintu is a danceband that's been around since 1992. Their vocalist is Simo Silmu who also scored single hits on this list, too. Ten albums so far that have sold 7 gold discs, 5 platinum and 2 double platinum albums. This song is maybe their biggest hit and from 2002.

7. KIITOS JA KUNNIA - YÖ
Yö has been around since 1981 and were part of the Pori movement that culminated later in Dingo who also may have stolen their fans as their record sales dropped dramatically in mid 1980's. After nearly 15 years of thin years what comes to success Yö came back in early 2000's and has been selling (multi)platinum in each their four latest albums again. Singer Olli Lindholm also won Iskelmä Finlandia 2008. I guess the guys never thought in early 1980's they would end up 30 years later as schlager radio's pets!

8. KAIKISTA KASVOISTA - ANNA ERIKSSON
No doubt one of the best singers in Finland. She's now making small steps to conquer Scandinavia with her latest album in English Garden of love. But here she is at her highlight years as the number one hit maker in Finland. She also won the OGAE second chance contest in 2000 but unfortunately she has declared Eurovision is not for her, nor the other competitions. Active since 1997 as an recording artists she has sold multiplatinum with most of her albums and won most every award available beang also the most played singer in the Finnish radios over the years.

9. VIELÄ ON KESÄÄ JÄLJELLÄ - MAMBA
Another band from Pori formed in 1984. The band has changed their members about a zillion times but the singer Tero Vaara is always there and writes most of the songs. Steady flow of albums and occasional hits has kept the band going and this anthem for summertime is like a Finnish Last Christmas by Wham, except this becomes a hit every summer again since its release in 2002 when it was the year's most played song on radios.

10. HENTO KUISKAUS - SUVI TERÄSNISKA
So far Suvi is a bit of one hit wonder but this song is a real classic already. Released in 2008 off her debut album it must have hit the people who had recently fallen in love with Johanna Kurkela as in my opinion they sound a bit the same. (But Johanna as the original has scored a hit after hit....) Anyways, Suvi started as Yö's backing singer and time will tell how it will go when she releases another album....
