Denmark is one of the four countries having its national final for the Eurovision song contest 2022 this Saturday. There will be pre-voting online added to the votes on the night. The top-3 will then have a super final with zeroed votes. Denmark, just like Germany, seems to be a bit lost in their search for success. If I remember correctly they have the submission window open all year and these eight are the ones they came up with? Might be something wrong with the jury then. Or what do I know? Nice though there are quite a few songs in Danish!
Patrick Dorgan - Vinden suser ind **
Quite nice voice and quite nice beginning but it takes two full minutes until anything happens really. And that's a long time at Eurovision. And what happens isn't much. Shame.
Confessions - Hallelujah **
Sounds very familiar. If you asked me I'd say the chorus is from some advertising for sanitary towel or something. Completely forgettable but pleasant at the same time. Could come alive live, or then not.
Der Var Engang - En skønne dag **
Quite sweet and innocent, even pretty but still nothing special, gets very repetitive towards the end and I'm not so sure how this will be live vocally as it seems to be on the edge even on studio version. But maybe it gets stronger? In that case I would give a ***
Fuld Effekt - Rave med de hårde drenge *
Wtf is this? Danish Gangnam style? No. Just no.
Josie Elinor & Jack Warren - Let Me Go *
How generic and heard before can you be? This much. Bits of this also sound way too familiar....
Morten Fillipsen - Happy Go Lucky ***
Despite the title also this one's in Danish. This one sounds, like most every song here, a demo. Good intentions and so on but the final result is rather lazy and boring. Still the best so far, but doesn't sound even this would survive the semi-final in Turin, but.... what do I know?
Reddi - The Show *
I deeply dislike this way of singing. By anyone who does it. And after that incredibly bored intro comes a simil punk garage nonsense amateur beat. Really DR there was nothing better? I'm soon start asking G:son & co back
Juncker - Kommet for at blive ***
This reminds be of Italian Cesare Cremonini's songs the way they recall The Beatles. And after all these others that's a good thing. I think I want him to win this. Him or Morten. Even the whistling sounds refreshing now.
