One of the best editions of Eurovision was held in Gothenburg, on May 9, 1985. Skandinavium Hall was the biggest to date with the capacity of 8.000. For the first time tickets were sold to common mortals and Eurovision fans who entered the hall with their flags and banners. The presenter (born in Helsinki, btw) Lill Lindfors nearly stole the show after being so bad in rehearsals that SVT was close to replacing her the last minute. The moment she "accidently" dropped her dress is propably the most seen scene in the Eurovision history! Wind was there, so was Kikki Danielsson for Sweden and her Chips partner Elisabeth Andreasson for Norway, together with Hanne Krogh. Izhar Cohen also returned but so did Albano & Romina Power, Gary Lux, Hot Eyes, Mariella Farré, Ireen Sheer, MFÖ and even Anna Vissi's sister Lia Vissi was there! Germany was the big favourite but was beaten in the end by Norway. The hall exploded with joy and it was like if the host nation itself had won. Everyone was happy for Norway's first win after so many failures.
