After 45 long long years it was finally here! Hartwall Areena hosted the Eurovision on May 12, 2007 and all Finland - or at least Helsinki area - was in the party mood. Senate's Square was packed with people watching it live on mega screens (as you can see in live broadcast) and there were hundreds of side programmes in town all week. I personally have too many fond memories to share here but let's say Edsilia Rombley is a darling! So is Evridiki. I have funny memories of the Greek commentators Fotis and Maria running after me screaming my name for information.. Hanna was fab... people I met... I could go on for hours! Let's just say it was the most tiring two weeks of my life, yet the most exciting. Constant lack of sleep didn't slow me down (much anyways) and my apartment has never been so fully occupied! (You know who you are!) I just hope you had as much fun as I did! And we had the most wonderful gift in the end: Music won! Serbian team came on stage, did nothing much but sung their wonderful song in their native language and won ahead of certain circus acts. Ukraine's Verka Serducha was a lot of fun and great track but is she won after Lordi, God only know what kind of Eurovision we would be having now!
