Sweden: Melodifestivalen semifinal 4 live & results

Here we go again and let's see if Sweden can provide any competition to their neighbours Norway, Finland and Denmark in Moscow as all three are very good! The chances are getting slim.... Anyways, have to start once again saying Petra mede is fantastic!

Agnes opened the show with a 70's disconumber I quite enjoyed. For some reason it made me think of Diana Ross - must be the golden bodysuit and huge hair! Catchy feel good music.
Starpilots followed with a performance that was so gay it was almost painful but I like the song. Catchy with a great beat to 40somethings like me, pretty good vocals. I would be very curious to see how this kind of song would do in Eurovision as national finals here and there always have these but they never win....
Susanne next on stage making her Melodifestivalen debut with a ballad that is propably the best ballad på svenska this year. Well done. Deserves a place in final and I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it.
Sahlene and Maria. Oh well. A lot of noise for nothing I'm afraid. The song is not going anywhere and how come Maria managed to look so slim? And how come her boombs didn't bop out? Tape? Clue?
Thorleifs. No comment. But I guess we need to have this kind of stuff in to be politically correct?
Sarah. I hope she wins and shows Chiara how to deliver a power ballad. Fantastic vocally. Beautiful melody and very American in arrangement with a hint of Eurovision thrown in.
Next3. Do some people really listen this kind of music because they want to? I have heard a lot worse in this genre but I don't care if I never hear this one again. Gives me nothing.
Malena. Now, what to make of Malena? It was better than I expected and the staging really fitting. But was it great? Not really. She struggled with the non-opera parts and looked weird most of the time. Maybe Swedes are desperate enough to send her to Moscow hasn't this card played already? (Ask Slovenians...)

If it was up to me Sarah and Starpilots to Globen, Susanne and Agnes or Malena to 2nd chance.

Ok, Sarah, Starpilots, Agnes and Malena made it to top-5 with Thorleifs (why am I not surprised?)... and Next3 came 6th, Sahlene & Maria 7th (ha!) and Susanne was left last. :-(

While waiting for the duels Darin (possible Melodifestivalen artist in the near future?) singing Se på mig from the era when Sweden was still ruling the Eurovision....

The first duel is Starpilots vs Agnes! And the winner is.... Agnes. So, second chance for Starpilots (where they join Lili & Susie with their Finnish leader while the third Finn, Markoolio is out definately).

The second duel is Sarah vs Malena. Thorleifs is out (phew). And the winner is..... Malena. Sigh. Ok, Swedes took the wrong direction.... but Sarah was the international jury's choise....

I liked Agnes, very consistent performance and a nice beat, I think she will qualify.

Star pilots were a lot of fun, I think they'll go through.

Out of the others I think Marlena and Sahlene and Maria or Sarah will get through as well.

I am disgusted the Thorliefs got through so far...

SONGS OF THE YEAR 2015: #5 KRISTA SIEGFRIDS - ON & OFF

Krista Siegfrids is delivering nice pop tunes one after another and this one is particularly catchy and soon you will be singing along..... Hopefully her Melodifestivalen entry will be equally good!

ESC 2016 WISH LIST: MARGARET FOR POLAND

Małgorzata Jamroży aka Margaret has also been tipped for Eurovision and apparently she did turn it down but she'd be perfect. She's got a look and persona you can't unnotice nor forget, she's got hit songs, she has been voted or nominated for everything from Trendy artist to the Hope of the Year, Fashion Icon and Glamour Woman of the year besides the usual best video, song, album, debut..... Oh she's also a fashion designer! She's very clever with social medias and would surely use it to her advantage if selected for Stockholm 2016. Her debut album is titled Add the blonde , do we need to say more? Except it includes mostly Swedish written pop tunes like Tell me how are ya , Wasted , Start a fire and Heartbeat . And of course her debut single and internationally noticed Thank you very much that you can enjoy below with all its anti-textil feel. I think she's Eurovision perfection, she's cheeky and fun, can we have her?

ESC 2016 BELARUS: NAKED WITH WOLVES?

Today's funniest Eurovision related story comes from Belarus. Some sources claim Ivan wants to perform on stage naked and with live wolf or wolves. It surely would be a first on Eurovision stage! We have seen some forgotten underwear over the years, and some cardbox animals though..... Is it time to take things a bit further?  No, according the rules live animals are not allowed, and Eurovision being a family show nudity won't do either. (It seems to be ok to be half naked if you are a dancer though..... )

UK: Naked Blue

The boys of Blue have posed nude again. This time for the Attitude magazine's annual Naked issue and they are also in the cover. Watch the video of the shooting here . Band member Duncan, who is bi-sexual, recently told The Daily Star : “We are getting our kit off for Attitude magazine like the McFly boys did. I’m up for showing everything off. I’m happy enough about the size of my manhood. ” Extra media attention won't hurt their changes in Germany to win it for the UK for the first time since 1997... They will and they can!

CAROLA'S BOOBS STEAL THE SHOW, SVT APOLOGIES

Update! Another thing got Swedes talking last night: Carola's boobs when she was giving away an award. This is not the first time her boombs cause headlines; her misfortunate adventures in the 80's in Japan wer explained with her boobs being too big for Japanese market. Ok.... Or was it the song ? Anyways, Carola apologies and says she thinks the dress is stylish and elegant (even her friends said so) and she's a mature woman in her 40s, not a 16-year-old girl and looks like one. The Swedish Oscars, Guldbagge awards were given out last night. Carola was there as a guest star to sing Barbra Streisand's The way we were when honoring the movie stars who passed away during 2012. However, the cameras were too much on Carola, not on the stars showed in photos in the background and that upset many viewers as that part of the show was to celebrate them, not Carola. Oh well...  The producer of the show tells in Aftonbladet the part of the show was made the sam...

CZECH REPUBLIC: MARTINA BÁRTA PRESENTS MY TURN

Czech Republic's internally chosen Martina Bárta has released her entry My turn for the Eurovision as well today. Not sure if I managed to keep my attention level very high for very long when listening to it.... Shame.

EUROVISION 2026: THE SEMI-FINAL ONE PREDICTION

Here we go again. Every year the prediction of the qualifiers is getting more difficult, this year there's the added re-introduction of the juries in the semi-final and of course the voting pro and against Israel. Also the contest has moved a bit south-east with those comebacks and those who stayed home in west. But here goes judged by the own impressions and the few comments I have read online by those who have seen the rehearsals and not only the 30 seconds video clip and three photos. Update after show with colors: Tbh I never quite believed in Estonia but thought for some reason it might do it after all, Portugal I was hoping for a miracle that never materialized, I'm sure they came 11th :-) I put Montenegro in Maybe category but really it should have been in Most likely out as I never believed one minute it will qualify. I still don't get Lithuania and I'm surprised it did qualify, it will be curious to see if it's all juries work or did people really like it. ...

JEDWARD GETS NAKED FOR THE FANS

Well, almost. The boys celebrated their 650.000th follower on Twitter by being photographed fresh from shower as promised. It's not the first time they drop their clothes as you see here . Meanwhile their second album is nearly here and the title track Young love is hitting the charts....

Rumors, rumors, rumors....

While the national selections for Junior Eurovision are going on around Europe and Ani Lorak's been confirmed as host all sort of rumors about the real thing are beginning to be the order of the day. Austria returns - or then not. Andorra stays home - or then not. San Marino returns - well, most likely but not surely. Luxembourg should make a come back - or then maybe not. Liechtenstein is still in the running - or has it ever been for real? Has the local TV ever confirmed anything? Is it just wishful thinking by the fans? Poland on the other hand has confirmed they will be in Oslo. And Italy will be still out. And apparently there will be no ban or such for Azerbaijan nor Spain for the irregularities in and after the 2009 edition. EBU had to change the text in the rules to make it sure nothing like that what happened in Azerbaijan could happen again. Or if it will they have means and rules to back up a ban or sanction.... Katerina Avgoustakis has been rumored to be in Oslo...
