Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

It's the time again: Blogilkar's home jury of Eurovision fans, non-fans and common viewers from teenagers to nearly 60 years old have watched and listened giving points from 1 to 10 plus a special 12 points to be awarded to the one favorite. In case of a tie the ranking was done by highest points received by any juror(s). And yes, the result is somewhat surprising here and there. Last year our winner was NQ Czechia but the winner Switzerland was 2nd and runner up Croatia 3rd.  Italy is our number five with 64 points gathered with one 10, a string of 8s and 9s but the angsty teenager hits again with a 1 with a couple of 5s. Most saw the authenticity of the artist and a good solid song that may be a bit unfashionable and old fashioned but then again it sounds already like an evergreen classic. His look and fashion sense was lost with the teenagers while the older ones got the hint. Check out places 6. - 9. here

It's time to kick of the usual reviews. The opinions are all mine and if I don't like some song it's simply just not my cup of tea so to speak. If I like something you dislike or hate, it's fine, too. No stresso, no need to be depresso it's just music and tastes that re diverse and therefor beautiful! I also try to predict their success come May a little bit but as we know once the staging is out everything may change, remember Fuego and Rise like a phoenix for example? For this series I have grouped the songs in fours as usual as the songs may have similarities or something in common. Some fours came out beautifully, the others.... well not so well. Here comes the seventh part! ITALY - Lucio Corsi - Volevo essere un duro I predict another Top-5 for Italy against all fan bubble odds. Even a shock winner. As Olly has decided not to use his ticket to Eurovision song contest 2025 in Basel after winning Sanremo with Balorda nostalgia the right and honor goes to runner up Lucio Corsi and maybe now it's time to say I'm pleased after all. I never quite connected with Balorda nostalgia and Olly without autotune... I'm not so sure how that would have sounded in the end. Lucio Corsi's song is very pleasant, his look memorable and all in all he provokes some sort of tenderness and will to like him. He's just Luco as he says, nothing less, nothing more. Lucio (31) may have been pretty unknown to great public and certainly not a household name before Sanremo, I for one had never ever heard of him before, but he's been doing music that mixes glamrock, fairytale themes and surreal lyrics since 2011 already. It was in the air and now it's real: Olly doesn't go to Eurovision. He explains on his social medias:  "I've been asking myself and asking everyone's opinions for days, the answer is always the same: "in the end you have to do what you feel", because everyone knows how much it means to me to be myself, always. Well, I don't think you would be sad if I moved concerts for Eurovision, but I firmly believe that I need to connect with everything that is happening to me, before looking even further ahead, before continuing with my beloved live apprenticeship that I always talk about with infinite pride. I have therefore decided to give up the opportunity to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, with the awareness that it is one of those things that maybe only happen once in a lifetime.
