NETHERLANDS: DUNCAN LAURENCE RELEASE LOVE DON'T HATE IT

Here it is finally, eagerly waited follow up to Duncan Laurence's Eurovision song contest winner Arcade. It seems the midtempo Love don't hate it has surprised many who thought he'd release another ballad and has met with general praise. And indeed, it's a good one.
The wait for the follow up has raised also a lot of talk in the Eurovision bubble why the winners take so long to release a follow up.  Duncan's five months is in line with the others, or even a bit faster than average. On the other hand it is only the second song he has released so we can talk about a real debutant.
The 2018 winner Netta released her follow up Bassa sababa only in February the year after and has released a total of three singles so far.
Salvador Sobral, the 2017 winner, for obvious reasons, released his follow up a year later. Mano a mano was followed by his second studio album and two more singles. After Eurovision he released a live album of his debut album based tour.
Jamala was already a seasoned recording artist and has released an album right after her 2016 win and another one last year, plus seven singles since. Her follow up was a duet with DakhaBrahka  in November, and solo follow up a year after.
Like Jamala also Måns Zelmerlöw had an album ready after Eurovision and has released two more after that with seven singles. The follow up was Should've gone home in August.
Conchita released her debut album during Eurovision, but follow up single only in November nicely announcing the next year's winner with her title Heroes. But she hasn't stopped since and two more albums and incarnations later she has already published 11 singles.
Emmelie De Forest was like Duncan, no releases before the win. Her debut album came out during Eurovision and the follow up single in August, followed by an acoustic Ep in September. Four-five singles have come out since but her career has somewhat dried out fast.
Loreen also took until October to release a follow up Crying out your name. Since then another album, one ep and string of singles (13), none of them really bothering the charts against all initial odds.

ESC 2016 BELARUS: NAKED WITH WOLVES?

Today's funniest Eurovision related story comes from Belarus. Some sources claim Ivan wants to perform on stage naked and with live wolf or wolves. It surely would be a first on Eurovision stage! We have seen some forgotten underwear over the years, and some cardbox animals though..... Is it time to take things a bit further?  No, according the rules live animals are not allowed, and Eurovision being a family show nudity won't do either. (It seems to be ok to be half naked if you are a dancer though..... )

SONGS OF THE YEAR 2015: #5 KRISTA SIEGFRIDS - ON & OFF

Krista Siegfrids is delivering nice pop tunes one after another and this one is particularly catchy and soon you will be singing along..... Hopefully her Melodifestivalen entry will be equally good!

ESC 2016 WISH LIST: MARGARET FOR POLAND

Małgorzata Jamroży aka Margaret has also been tipped for Eurovision and apparently she did turn it down but she'd be perfect. She's got a look and persona you can't unnotice nor forget, she's got hit songs, she has been voted or nominated for everything from Trendy artist to the Hope of the Year, Fashion Icon and Glamour Woman of the year besides the usual best video, song, album, debut..... Oh she's also a fashion designer! She's very clever with social medias and would surely use it to her advantage if selected for Stockholm 2016. Her debut album is titled Add the blonde , do we need to say more? Except it includes mostly Swedish written pop tunes like Tell me how are ya , Wasted , Start a fire and Heartbeat . And of course her debut single and internationally noticed Thank you very much that you can enjoy below with all its anti-textil feel. I think she's Eurovision perfection, she's cheeky and fun, can we have her?

Nina Badrić for Croatia

Croatian TV went for internal selection in the end and chose Nina Badrić. She has been around for almost 20 years and has released ten albums between 1995 and 2011. She has also treid to get to Eurovision four times already without a win (1993, 1994, 1995 and 2003). She is popular also in the other ex-Yogoslavian countries so let those 12s run in.... Listen her here: Moje oci pune ljubavi , Dat ce nam Bog , Nebo and Mama . And lovely Carobno jutro .

CZECH REPUBLIC: MARTINA BÁRTA PRESENTS MY TURN

Czech Republic's internally chosen Martina Bárta has released her entry My turn for the Eurovision as well today. Not sure if I managed to keep my attention level very high for very long when listening to it.... Shame.

CONCHITA WURST RELEASES YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE VIDEO

Just awhile before her debut album simply titled Conchita will be released Conchita Wurst has released a video to her latest single You are unstoppable . And yes, she does Loreen or goes topless. Beautifully shot in black and white the video once again provides some beautiful imaginary and shots. And she's off to Australia for promotion soon.....

#ESC 2014 RUMOUR: SERGEY LAZAREV FOR RUSSIA?

Russia remains the country with very little news about their participation. A national final was scheduled originally for the new year's 2013 but then cancelled. Some have made themselves available like the Buranovskye Babushki but now another rumor has emerged: Sergey Lazarev. More credible this one. The eternal competitor with Dima Bilan for the most popular male artist in the country has tried to get to Eurovision in the past ( Flyer in 2008, when he lost to.... Bilan, as well as a member of a boyband some moons ago before that). He's also a popular TV-presenter and household name in Russia. Just like Bilan he has also tried an international career, that is yet to explode outside the ex-USSR countries.  Here he makes fun of Bilan, with Bilan himself. Lazarev's songs include Cure the thunder , В САМОЕ СЕРДЦЕ , СЛЕЗЫ В МОЕМ СЕРДЦЕ , Unreal love , Vspomonai .... This blogger has been waiting for this happen for a few years now, so hopefully it's true. At least ...

Boobs for summer: Samantha vs Sabrina!

The old rivals have put their bras (or the lack of them) in peace and entered the studios together to record Blondie's boombastic Call me . Life could be worse.....

El Retorno: Marco Banderas - The porn life

XXX-porn star Marco Banderas seems to be fan of Eurovision, as he is aiming for Moscow 2009. His The porn life is at #385 in the voting right now. He's doing much better in his hardcore porn star career than as a singer: he's been nominated to 8 AVN (Adult Video News) Awards, including Male performer of the year. http://www.rtve.es/television/eurovision2009/candidatos/marco-banderas.shtml (oh and no, it's not one of my favourites. It's here purely to spice up your new year's a little ;-) )

Rumours: Maya Buskila for Israel?

IBA is supposed to announce tomorrow the Israeli 2012 represant. Israel went for internal selection when the plans for the national final weren't succesful. Maya Buskila's name is mentioned once again, like every year for ages already. Will she do it finally? Listen some of her songs here , here and here . And here's her duet with Harel Skaat doing some Eurovision songs. Tomorrow we will know...
