... France should have saved Et alors by Shy'm for Eurovision. But that song is representing La France in OGAE Song contest instead, let's see how it will go.... Eurovision Bonsoir Paris fan site has run a lot of questions for French Eurovision fans (nearly 500 of them answered) over the summer and out of the results we can see that they'd prefer a Melodifestivalen type of selection show - or at least a televised national final. Not surprisingly they would also like to pick up the winner themselves - and if not, it should be picked up by an international jury and/or televote.
And when it comes down to the song itself, it should be a quality one, as well as the artist's vocal capacities should be up to it. There should be rhythm, charisma and stage presence and visual effects thrown in with a good measure. If the artists is well known or not isn't that important. Surprisingly more fans would like to order a song from a known Eurovision writer than ordering it from a well known French one (Mr.Siegel, they need you!)
As for the artist they would like to send a one already known in France, a current one. The song should include at least some French and a ballad would do fine. If not, electric music is the second most popular choice of music style.
And finally, the fans got a list of songs they were supposed to vote if the song was suitable for Eurovision or not and beforementioned Et alors by Shy'm was just that for 57% of the voters. Funnily the song is just about 3 minutes long, too. Hmmm....
Emmanuel Moire with Beau malheur got 39% okeys, Zaz's On ira 38%, Tal's Le sens de la vie 32% and finally completing the Top-5 M.Pokora's Le jour que je reve 26%. No fan thought Orelsan's La terre est ronde would have been suitable!
And on. The fans would prefer solo artists, a bit more female than male. With a ballad.
And coming down to the essential, the artist only. Shy'm is the favorite here as well with 28% followed by Emmanuel Moire closely behind with 24%. M.Pokora is the third one with 18%. All have been on these various wish lists and polls for years now. Who knows if we will see one of them finally on Eurovision stage in 2014?
This blogger keeps the fingers crossed for Emmanuel Moire.... ;-p
