Asiavision song contest comes reality in 2009

Here it comes, the first real spin off of the Eurovision song contest (well, there's of course Junior Eurovision song contest and Eurovision dance contest...): Asiavision song contest to be held next year for the first time with 16 countries taking part, with expected expanding up to 30 countries (Eurovision has gone from 7 to nearly 50) in the future. The estimated TV-audience is up to 500 million people. The countries in the kick off are: China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. (Well, one might raise a question mark for the trio China-Hong Kong-Macao.... England, Scotland & Wales anyone?). Time will tell if Asiavision will become as popular and long living as Eurovision and will they join each other someday in Worldvision song contest or something... In a way I'm starting to feel a bit nostalgic to those ESCs with 18-20 countries only so long ago already... Here's the presentation video anyways: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJQ8XbhvP1A
