Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

  Faith is the past two Eurovision song contest winners Nemo of Switzerland and JJ of Austria both have released their latest efforts almost at the same time fighting for same public for the chart success and attention. Nemo - God's a raver **** Nemo has been around already almost ten years with many EPs and singles released but if we consider his past-Eurovision career God's a raver is the first serious contender to hit big along with his debut album to be released in October 2025. His first release after win was Eurostar that went by without much success and the other songs after that ( Casanova , Unexplainable ) even less so. God's a raver could change his fate being a catchy, groovy, humorous number with somewhat questionable lyrics to stir some attention being the real follow up to The Code . Ebu and Eurovision world just avoided a bullet and in the end Finns have only a small tiny consolation that the winner JJ's outfit was Finnish design and made as well was the staging and he even rehearsed it in Vantaa, Finland over the spring. He only managed 5th in the semifinal but it all changed in the grand final. I leave the vote analyzing to else but ..... This was a weird weird year. But dear Lord the jury voting was all over the place! Austria managed only 8 full sets of 12s, Italy six (I told you so! read more here ) and France 5, Greece 4, Switzerland and Latvia 3, Germany (!!!) 2 and Israel, Armenia (!!!), Finland, Albania, UK and Sweden one. Finland, once the eternal loser and failure has become a real Eurovision powerhouse in the past few years. Finishing 6th and 2nd in the past few years and qualifying already four years in a row - fifth one coming this year - has also managed to sneak in to help other delegations like Albania last year and  this year Ari Levelä is doing stagings for Austria and Cyprus, Teemu Muurimäki who created the famous green bolero for Käärijä among others will dress up JJ and even UMK show producer (and one of Käärijä's dancers) Matti Myllyaho is involved with Austria's staging. Estonia's entry this year is co-written and produced in Finland, the Swedish entry is by Finns and then we have Finland itself in top-10 in the odds to win the whole thing. It's time to kick of the usual reviews. The opinions are all mine and if I don't like some song it's simply just not my cup of tea so to speak. If I like something you dislike or hate, it's fine, too. No stresso, no need to be depresso it's just music and tastes that re diverse and therefor beautiful! I also try to predict their success come May a little bit but as we know once the staging is out everything may change, remember Fuego and Rise like a phoenix for example?   Austria has chosen internally Johannes Pietsch who for Eurovision goes by name JJ . This 23-year-old Philippino-Austrian countertenor whose voice reaches soprano heights switches from classical music and Vienna opera house to the biggest pop stage in the world in Basel. He has done The Voice UK  2020 (was eliminated in knock outs)  and Starmania 2021 (up until fist live show) Update: His entry is called Wasted love and was released March 6. Currently, JJ performs at the Vienna State Opera and has participated in numerous productions, including Die Zauberflöte, Von der Liebe Tod, Tschick, and many other classical masterpieces.
