ITALY: SANREMO 2021 BIG RUMOURS

Covid or no covid, some things never change. Like guessing the Sanremo Big artists beforehand and the rumor mill has really heated up these days before the announcement on next Thursday, December 17 during the Sanremo Giovani final. Just having a quick look at the media in recent days over 50 names have been mentioned as probably or even sure, while there are only 20 places, unless once again the number will be increased to a few more "due demand". Amadeus has declared he got around 300 submissions and most likely he has contacted some personally asking them to join the party. This said, for the first time maybe ever there are several names mentioned I have never heard before! Does it mean I have fallen out of the Italian music scene? Or that he's aiming for the more alternative, less known names throwing in a good number of random rappers I don't care to follow? We'll see.

As usual the male names are dominating the scene and the ladies are outnumbered. And then there are the odd duets, and this time around quite a few groups and solid duos in the mix.

Starting with the ladies in the top photo: 

Anna Tatangelo (could come with a random rapper next to her?), Annalisa, Arisa, Elodie, Malika Ayane, Mara Sattei with Madame, Loredana Berté, Donatella Rettore, Valeria Marini, Simona Molinari, Gaia, Giusy Ferreri, Orietta Berti and Noemi.

Gentlemen in the middle photo:

Aiello, Achille Lauro (third year in a row would be a record in modern times), Bugo, Francesco Renga, Federico Rossi of Beni & Fede fame, rapper Random, Ermal Meta apparently with Max Gazzé, Tommaso Paradiso of Thegiornalisti fame, Ghemon, Irama, last year's Newcomers winner Leo Gassmann, Mr.Rain, Michele Bravi, Fulminacci (I have never heard of), Luca Carboni could debut but more likely to be a superstar guest, Gio Evan (I have never heard of..) and Willie Peyote (name rings a bell but I have no idea....)

And finally the groups and duos:

Trio of ladies Casale - Di Michele - Nava, Come_Cose (never heard of...), DiMartinoColapesce (never heard of...), Fedez with Francesca Michielin (or could they be guests?), The Kolors, Rocco Hunt with Ana Mena, Lo Stato Sociale, La Rappresentante di lista, Zero Assoluto, Måneskin and Sottotono.

Several names have been mentioned and dismissed of they have declared themselves they

re not in from Diodato to Chiara Galiazzo, Claudio Lippi with Giacomo Celentano or have been mentioned like rapper Rkomi, Margherita Vicario, Kekko of Modà solo or with Modá, 

Well, that's already a long list but I am sure Amadeus pulls out a couple of total surprises for us, so all we can do is to wait and see.
