There will be 43 countries taking part in the Eurovision song contest 2012 in Baku. The same record number as in 2008 and 2011. It would have been a record if Poland didn't decide to drop out. On the other hand Montenegro is back and Armenia decided to take part after all. If we only had Andorra and Czech Republic.... There will be two semifinal on May 22 and 24, ten songs qualifying to the final on May 26 where these 20 will join the Big5 and the host country Azerbaijan, thus making it a final with 26 countries and songs. the allocation draw for the semifinals will take place on January 25, 2012 in Baku.
