FINLAND: HOW HAVE THE UMK 2024 FINALISTS CHARTED? WHAT DO THE POLLS SAY?

As in previous years UMK 2024 is also a hit machine. The past three years the most streamed song in Finland has been an UMK entry, last year even Top-2 (and they are still in the Top-40 after one year!) It's funny to think just a few years ago the songs didn't chart at all, sometimes not even the winner and even longer ago some songs were not even recorded and/or released. 

Here's how the songs have made in the Official singles Top-50 charts. As they were release one by one on different days and over two weeks chart period the positions enter gradually. Sara Siipola has featured the best here staying in Top-5 for three weeks already.

In the Spotify daily charts the songs have reached a peak at (not sure if this list complete and accurate, I lost track at some point). Sara Siipola has been reigning here as well. (The total streams as of today 10.2.2024)

In the Finnish fans chatroom Viisukuppila's poll Sara Siipola is a very clear winner from the beginning of the poll. One can vote for two favorites and here's the result:

So, what can we do about these results? That Sara Siipola has it already in pack? No. Finns tend to unpredictable voters and we must remember these results are more or less unknown to majority of watchers tonight, most of them still haven't even heard all the songs as usual. A common viewers leaves it all for tonight as there hasn't been a Käärijä like phenomenon this year they have no idea what to expect. We must remember Sexmane does have a lot of fans and Finns usually go for novelty entries as well or Windows95man this time around. And who knows how MGN will appeal....
