Un briciolo di allegria, or A bit of joy, is Blanco's new release hoping to continue the success he had with his debut album, Sanremo and Eurovision song contest 2022 he did with Mahmood until things turned sour this year in Sanremo.
But let's go in order. In 2021 Blanco released his debut album Blue celeste at the age of 18. It sold six times platinum. The singles of it sold additional 24 platinum worth. On top of that he was featured or released additional songs that sold 23 platinum discs worth including four #1's and a total of 15 Top-10 hits.
This week he has released his new album Innamorato hoping to repeat the success. But, a big BUT, he kinda angered most of Italy when premiering his first single Isole delle rose off the new album. Due technical problems (his words) he kinda lost it (all planned according him) on stage in Teatro Ariston and destroyed the whole flower ornament decoration while audience booed and whistled. All that became apocalyptic dimensions and headlines were screaming he could end up in jail and all that.
People were quick to judge he's a classic case of "too much too soon" and was just a spoiled kid with no respect to others and hard work. That included several collegues and artists who said anyone with more experience would have stopped the performance and started anew instead of acting like a fool and rude.
And now just before releasing the album he also badmouthed Eurovision in a way saying:
"We arrived to Eurovision tired and destroyed (from concert and promo tours. Ed.note) and not so nice things happened. We asked to change the rehearsal schedules (!!! Ed.note) even if we knew there were slots and timetables. They refused. It was there all Wow thre (at Eurovision) but musically not so good, especially the final night. Eurovision itself doesn't give you much. Måneskin made it big because of the song, not Eurovision."
Well, well.... I'd like to say that Måneskin didn't make it big thanks to Zitti e buoni, the Eurovision winning song but an old cover, so saying that is completely false. And the complain about Eurovision rehearsal schedules, that you know 1-2 months beforehand and yet book yourself a tour and gigs left and right until the night before the rehearsals start in the morning after.... Well, have a look at the mirror!
But this said, the new song with Mina (83), the Italian legends who hasn't performed live or in public since August 1978, is quite nice. Have a listen below.
