Nina Zilli is going back to her roots of reggae and ska in her new musical project. She's in Kingston, Jamaica at the moment recording with Alborosie, an Italian roots reggae artist who calls Jamaica home these days. The song they are recording together for his new album has a nice vintage vibe in it and Nina declares happy to be back to reggae "the love of her life"! Here's a video interview with them both about the project. And it also looks like we don't have to wait long for Nina's own new album either, apparently she is already working on it as well. That woman just can't sit down and do nothing, it seems :-)
Alborosie (or Alberto D'Ascola from Sicily). He gained success with his band Reggae National Tickets in the early 1990's before moving to Jamaica in 2000. He has collaborated with names like Wyclef, Sisco, Angie Stone, Manu Chao. He is the first white artist to be distributed by Bob Marley's label Tuff Gong.
