Sanremo must be the biggest commercial event in terms that every year most every artists releases an album or at least compilation to go with the participation and the entry. Melodifestivalen may come close in that but Eurovision itself may just pale in comparison - in recent years not even a physical single of some entries have been released and don't even mention album! (Promos don't count!)
In 2011 from Sanremo artists these will release a new album with previously unreleased songs: Albano, Luca Barbarossa, Giusy Ferreri, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi and Cesare Malfatti from La Crus will release solo albums both, Luca Madonia, Modá, Nathalie, Max Pezzali, Patty Pravo, Anna Tatangelo, Tricarico, Davide Van De Sfroos, Roberto Vecchioni, Serena Abrami, Anansi, BTwins and Gabriella Ferrone.
Albano will also release a compilation album including his Sanremo tracks over the years. Also La Crus will release a greatest hits while Emma and Anna Oxa will re-publish their latest albums with the added Sanremo track. The newcomers Raphael Gualazzi, Marco Menichini and Micaela are working on their debut albums so that leaves us only Raquel Del Rosario and Franco Battiato with no releases linked to their participation - but then both are just dueting with someone else...
Nathalie's album is called Vivo sospesa and includes two songs in English and one in French, and Tricarico duets with Toto Cutugno in his album.
Once again the record companies haven't been able to work toh´gether and release one compilation with all songs but both Universal and Rhino Records are releasing an album, both with 10 Big and 6 newcomers...
One of the singers will represant Italy in the Eurovision 2011 and the name will be published just before the final results of Sanremo on Saturday night.
