As anticipated there will be 50-50 televote-jury in the next Eurovision song contest in Moscow 2009. Time will tell how it will effect the results...
Most likely the usual top-10's will be completed for both televoters and jury, and then combined to give the country's real votes, something like this:
Let's say the Finnish televoters will give 12 points to Sweden, 10 to Russia, 8 to Estonia, 7 to Greece, 6 to Serbia, 5 to France, 4 to Spain, 3 to San Marino, 2 to Portugal and 1 to Latvia and
the Finnish jury will give 12 to San Marino, 10 to Greece, 8 to Ireland, 7 to Turkey, 6 to Sweden, 5 to France, 4 to Portugal, 3 to Russia, 2 to Serbia and finally 1 to Spain.
Combined that gives Finland's real votes:
12 to Sweden (18 points in total), 10 to Greece (17), 8 to San Marino (15), 7 to Russia (13), 6 to France (10), 5 to Estonia (8, highest televote of 8 pointers), 4 to Serbia (8, second highest 8 pointer by televotes), 3 to Ireland (no votes by televoters), 2 to Turkey (7) and finally 1 to Portugal (6).
That leaves Spain without points even if televoters gave it 4 points and jury 1.
How it all will work for real will be decided in EBU meetings this week.
