The bubble has burst.
Add the toxicity in social medias and fandom. The arrogant teenagers who saw their first contest somewhere 2017 or even 2021 who think they know it all and only their opinion matters. Did I mention the toxic atmosphere on social medias? I'm too old for that sh*t.
It's been a long ride that took me to various Eurovision on spot as a fan and tourist, as a journalist, as a delegation member. I met some great people, made memories of lifetime. In stressful, sad periods of my life this blog has been my safe place, a place to escape and forget everything else for an hour or two. I have always done this first of all for myself. It's been a source of inspiration when trying out things and ideas how to improve it, what to write, how to write. Sometimes it's been the source of stress itself when I was in a hurry to get the news out as soon as possible, the best way possible. When I started there weren't many of us around, and year 2009 remains the most successful in terms of visitors, and eurovision.tv itself was still useless and very poor. Now it has taken its rightly place as a main source, maybe even too much so.
I feel my job here is done.Time for holidays. For now at least. It's time for hibernation. If I ever come back I don't know right now. Time will tell. Maybe by the end of the year, next spring or who knows when I may feel like I need something to waste my time with again. Maybe not.
Until then: Thank you! Kiitos! Grazie!
Ps. I special thanks to Käärijä for making this season the best one ever! It's a good place to stop. Cha cha cha!

You are spot on about "arrogant teenagers... who think they know it all and only their opinion matters". I still love this crazy contest but my own interest has also waned these past few years. It doesn't feel like my contest any more so I understand a little of how you're feeling.
I do hope you'll reconsider after you've had a break and come back re-energised.
Take care friend and thank you for everything xx
If not, I will be checking occasionally, in case you decide to come back. Kiitos, from a fan from Greece
