Israel - Kobi Marimi - Home ****
Now what to say? This is my second favorite in the whole contest and I'm not sure if I like this staging with rain of fire and pyros, and apparently choir joining with him on stage and all. And the new intro if they're using that version. I was hoping for something more sober, intimate and touching, like the song but on the other hand the pressure is off, and the arena will explode anyways when he hits Home so it wouldn't be so intimate and mininal anyways..... Staging meh, song pure love.
France - Bilal Hassani - Roi **
Call me cynical if you want but I don't buy these inspirational slogans, body challenged dancers and confused genres. I'm not saying they don't matter or are important, but this is too much in your face and too much underlining every little thing and only makes me feel unconfortable. Whatever his message is he's preaching I don't want to hear it here. There, I said it. Crucify me now. I really don't understand how this is all of sudden one of the favorites. No I don't.
Spain - Miki - La venda ****
C'mon Europe! The arena will go wild with this one and I love the color explotions in the backdrop, the song's like an European wide summer hit. Why wouldn't this do well? This is pretty much what we expect from Spain and I hope it will be rewarded come voting, both by juries and televoters securing the best Spanish finish for many, many years....
