EUROVISION 2014: AN ORDINARY REHEARSAL DAY IN PHOTOS

Eurovision seen by televiewers on TV or by fans on spot in Press center and the Arena is quite different from the Eurovision seen by delegates. These two words collide in Press center, in EuroClub and Euro Fan cafe but inside the venue and Press center there are hidden corners fans and most of the press don't get into. This is a little photo story of an ordinary routine rehearsal day seen from the backstage areas. And if you didn't guess, most of it is waiting. And more waiting. And even more waiting.....
The day started usually with a pick up from the hotel. The only thing that didn't please the fans and press in Copenhagen was the transportation. Same goes for the delegations. Or what do you say about 1h40 mins driving time reserved to the veue when it only took 15 minutes? It did get better after a few days though..... Still, a lot of waiting.....
Arriving B&W hallerne and its tent village was quite an experience the first time. There it was, in the middle of nothing. I do love industrial look but sometimes there can be a little bit too much of it  really. But once you got inside it got better and within days you didn't even get lost in that tent maze of corridors anymore.
Then it was time to bring in some promos to make fans and press happy. Maybe.
And of course the Dress!
And off we went to the long tent corridors towards Delegation Lounge.
And started waiting. What else?
Then we arrived to the lounge and the spartan dressing rooms.....
Oh, there's an orchid. And Tentacle lamps!
Claus the SoundMan worked his magic! (Here pictured in the hotel lobby though, don't expect marble floors in the dressing room tents!). Why change it if it's not broken?
Time to go. Finally!
First stop In-ear station for Valentina and backing singers Sandrina, Giovanna, Giacomo and Paulo. And of course Mauro and Ralph.
Fix and mix that sound to perfection......
Ever present eurovision,tv photographer was there, too. This time lovely Sander.
Next step before going backstage is the microphone station.....
Last touch on make up and hair by  Nadja the Fabulous.
This is it. The real backstage where it all comes to place.
Valentina and Fabrizio in good spirits while waiting for our turn
and listening to Moldovan song for the 5th time....
Watching the rehearsal from the Green room.
While other delegations watched in the Lounge,
and fans and press in the Press center of course.

Next stop the infamous Viewing room where all the changes are suggested, discussed and argued by the delegation and DR people. Camerashots, lights, recaps.... All that matters.

After succesful rehearsal it was time to meet hte press in the official Press conference,
also streamed live by eurovision.tv
And at some point you may have eaten something in the cantine. A lesson learned: sleep and eat in every given chance. That's what everyone seemed to be doing from singers to other delegates.
Or you could just hang out in the Lounge and see who's doing what.
Something going on all the time...
Like Mauro giving an interview to the San Marino tv....
And you could of course step to the other side and visit the Press center. I want to take this opportuity to say hi to all those lovely people I met there, friends from years ago I didn't meet since Helsinki 2007, friends I met for the first time in real life, and all the new friends I made. This blogger is very happy for the succesful comeback to the Eurovision world! Can't wait for Vienna and seeing you all again! Don't know how but I will do my best to be there!
And after a very long day back to the bus and hotel. Or EuroClub. Or Euro Fan Cafe ;-p You can make your days even longer. And you do.....
And sometimes you didn't travel alone but with some other delegations. Like France for example!
And that was it. One of those 13 Eurovision filled days in Copenhagen 2014.

ESC 2016 WISH LIST: MARGARET FOR POLAND

Małgorzata Jamroży aka Margaret has also been tipped for Eurovision and apparently she did turn it down but she'd be perfect. She's got a look and persona you can't unnotice nor forget, she's got hit songs, she has been voted or nominated for everything from Trendy artist to the Hope of the Year, Fashion Icon and Glamour Woman of the year besides the usual best video, song, album, debut..... Oh she's also a fashion designer! She's very clever with social medias and would surely use it to her advantage if selected for Stockholm 2016. Her debut album is titled Add the blonde , do we need to say more? Except it includes mostly Swedish written pop tunes like Tell me how are ya , Wasted , Start a fire and Heartbeat . And of course her debut single and internationally noticed Thank you very much that you can enjoy below with all its anti-textil feel. I think she's Eurovision perfection, she's cheeky and fun, can we have her?

Regina Lund - naked and censored

Regina Lund's new video Jag är osynlig was censored by Youtube only minutes after it had been uploaded. In the video she was playing a female Jesus who gets crusified in the end. "I was shocked!" she says. "There's nothing more naked in it as in every church! It's ok to have naked man hanging on the wall but my nakedness is too much on internet? ". Oh well, no comment. She's prepairing a new album Dare Regina Lund and we of course remember her from her Melodifestivalen 2007 adventure with Rainbow star .

SONGS OF THE YEAR 2015: #5 KRISTA SIEGFRIDS - ON & OFF

Krista Siegfrids is delivering nice pop tunes one after another and this one is particularly catchy and soon you will be singing along..... Hopefully her Melodifestivalen entry will be equally good!

ESC 2016 BELARUS: NAKED WITH WOLVES?

Today's funniest Eurovision related story comes from Belarus. Some sources claim Ivan wants to perform on stage naked and with live wolf or wolves. It surely would be a first on Eurovision stage! We have seen some forgotten underwear over the years, and some cardbox animals though..... Is it time to take things a bit further?  No, according the rules live animals are not allowed, and Eurovision being a family show nudity won't do either. (It seems to be ok to be half naked if you are a dancer though..... )

CAROLA'S BOOBS STEAL THE SHOW, SVT APOLOGIES

Update! Another thing got Swedes talking last night: Carola's boobs when she was giving away an award. This is not the first time her boombs cause headlines; her misfortunate adventures in the 80's in Japan wer explained with her boobs being too big for Japanese market. Ok.... Or was it the song ? Anyways, Carola apologies and says she thinks the dress is stylish and elegant (even her friends said so) and she's a mature woman in her 40s, not a 16-year-old girl and looks like one. The Swedish Oscars, Guldbagge awards were given out last night. Carola was there as a guest star to sing Barbra Streisand's The way we were when honoring the movie stars who passed away during 2012. However, the cameras were too much on Carola, not on the stars showed in photos in the background and that upset many viewers as that part of the show was to celebrate them, not Carola. Oh well...  The producer of the show tells in Aftonbladet the part of the show was made the sam

JEDWARD GETS NAKED FOR THE FANS

Well, almost. The boys celebrated their 650.000th follower on Twitter by being photographed fresh from shower as promised. It's not the first time they drop their clothes as you see here . Meanwhile their second album is nearly here and the title track Young love is hitting the charts....

TIM SCHOU AND HIS NAKED GRAVITY

Tim Schou has a pretty good solo career going since he left his friends in London. He's travelling the world and relesing songs and videos. The latest one is a great track and comes with a steamy video that kinda takes away from the song really. But who's complaining. If you got it, flaunt it. Enjoy the video below. This post coming after the other Dane, Rasmus Seebach as wishlist for Eurovision. To think about it, Tim would do nicely, too. Maybe he should give it another go?

MÅNS ZELMERLÖW GETS NAKED FOR THE GOOD CAUSE

Reigning Eurovision song contest champion and the host of the next contest in May 2016 in Stockholm Mäns Zelmerlöw bares it almost all in GT following some other Eurovision stars like Blue and Jedward ( see more here ) All for the good cause of course, prostate cancer - something this blogger can also relate having experienced it in my closest circle. Nothing to laugh about.  The annual Naked issue of GT or Gay Times features also several other celebrity men out of their designer fashion and stage or sports outfits. I guess Christmas came early to some fans when they can unwrap their most wished gift already now.... Maybe.  But it's not the first time he gets naked.... he did so when hosting the annual QX Gala some years ago. Who knows what he and Petra have in store for us in May?!

ITALY: ALICE 70 - 'A CCHIÙ BELLA

To honor and remember Giuni Russo who passed away 20 years ago today's pick is Alice's cover of a song in Napoletan Giuni Russo and Maria Antonietta Sisini composed to a poem by Totò. The song first appeared recorded on Giuni's album Napoli che canta in 2004, five months before her passing. Alice later took it to her repertoire and it appears first on her 2009 live album Lungo la strada, and then in her 2012 studio album Samsara.  Tu si 'a cchiù bella cosa Ca tene stu paese Tu si comm' a na rosa Rosa rosa maggese You are the most beautiful thing that has this country You are like a rose Rose fallow rose
